At least not as high. In soccer, many of the scholarships are partial ones (as there are not enough to go around).
Very disappointing to hear - I had high hopes for him. Nearly bought a 26 jersey. Not if he's going to be a super-douche.
I really liked his hustle and he positioned himself better than most in the box last year - he just couldn't finish except when Meram handed it to him on a silver platter. I'd hoped he'd get better with this DDL move.
I'll be honest - I don't care if he develops Messi-like talent. If he has ego problems and is a douche, I don't want him on the team.
He's young. And I *want* my strikers to have a bit of an ego. You need it to play that position. This reminds me most of the Johannsen deal--where he got sat on the bench in Springfield last year. It worked too.
I don't, really. The Crew is really the only team I come close to "following". I like team players, I don't like individualistic assholes that have a superiority complex. A player that goes off on a coach for "not knowing what he's doing" or whatever is an immediate strike 2 in my book. It shows a distinct lack of professionalism. If you got a problem, you approach them one-on-one away from prying eyes and ears. You do it in a respectful manner. I'm a fan of humility and am very principled. I have no place for primadonnas. I would be 110% willing to trade away or let go a great player who had a shitty attitude and would feel no regret. Maybe that's the Army in me talking - no individuals. I root for certain teams but I don't really follow them.
The team will need to make a minimum of two I'd think three cuts during the season, seems like Finley is making choice number one pretty easy. 1. Wiet coming off IR 2. Mid-season upgrade 3. Mid-season upgrade #2/potential homegrown Not like for like I'd rather give a roster spot to Swanson over him. Like for like I still say Selemani is better right now and has far greater potential.
I'm not sure you *can* come off IR in the same season. I thought IR was season ending in MLS so that it isn't used to stockpile players. Am I remembering wrong?
http://www.dispatch.com/content/sto...rew-caps-off-preseason-with-disney-title.html After entering the weekend with 31 players signed and two unsigned trialists in camp, Berhalter confirmed after the game that the Crew had cut goalkeeper Daniel Withrow and moved defender Matt Wiet to the disabled list, meaning his roster spot will not count against the team’s limit provided he misses at least six weeks. Wiet is expected to return during the summer after suffering a knee injury last season.
I drove over to Beavercreek Friday and watched the Lions play the Rhinos ($12 tickets). Schoenfeld, Williams, and George started. George played LB and played well. Schoenfeld made a few good a-la Crew flick-on passes but did not dominate in the box. Not much service though. Lions have a guy named Harada who plays holding midfielder and distributes well, has good vision of the field and is a very accurate passer. Could probably be a bit more agressive defending, but he looked like the most promising player. Broekhuizen (just as tall as Schoenfeld) scored for the Lions in the 92nd on a goalie interferance no-call for a tie. Lions should have had a penalty (no-call) earlier for a two-handed block by Rochester. Officiating was weak.
DDL signs Jesjua Angoy-Cruyff, grandson of Johan. Watch out, world. Dayton wins all the trophies. http://uslpro.uslsoccer.com/home/802317.html

He's starting tonight and was a sub last week (I think...). I assume he wouldn't be getting time if he hadn't gotten with the program.
