Israel won over Russia in the Davis Cup 5-0 and is for the first time ever in the semi final of the davis cup. In the first match, Harel Levy, ranked 210th in the world, beat Igor Andreev, ranked 24th. He won 6-4, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2.
Yes, it was a great accomplishment. Unfortunately, the next round falls out on Rosh Hashana. I hope that they will be able to play the matches a week early because this is really not cool. We can recall what happened when Maccabi Tel Aviv's first ever Champions League match fell on Rosh Hashana. Bad attendance, media etc.
