America ONE entered a deal with PASL for telecast of games: http://www.virtual-strategy.com/201...a-soccer-league-signs-deal-america-one-sports
Sagu will be joining the Sidekicks as goalie, formerly playing for Baltimore Blast in MISL. http://www.dallassidekicks.net/index.php/team http://www.pressboxonline.com/story.cfm?id=9129
Also, the home dates have been announced. http://www.dallassidekicks.net/index.php/blogs/80-sidekicks-home-dates-announced
Nothing says professional like a team releasing their home games dates without the league or other teams doing the same.
The Las Vegas Legends have done the same, both on their Facebook page and on the Orleans Arena website calendar. http://www.facebook.com/LVLegends/timeline http://www.orleansarena.com/event-calendar,2012-12
Because the first two tryouts were "such a great success," they're having a third session. http://www.dallassidekicks.net/index.php/team Also, only a few teams have posted schedules. If anyone knows the San Diego Sockers' schedule, I'd love to know when they'll be playing Dallas
Found this on a PASL Premier team site http://www.texasxtremefc.com/page/show/446279-men-s-semi-pro-2012 Texas Xtreme Men's Team The Texas Xtreme men's team will be playing an exhibition game this Saturday July 14th , 2012. The team will be split into two teams for the game. One team will wear the Texas Xtreme uniforms and the other will represent the DFW Tornadoes. The game is an exhibition game , But also play's an important part for player selection for future upcoming games. The Texas Xtreme will play the PASL Pro Dallas Sidekicks in early August. The Texas Xtreme Youth Players will take a group photo with the men's Team. July 14th , 2012 Kickoff: 8:30PM Location: NYTEX Sports Centre in North Richland Hills Cost: $5 Person NYTEX Sports Centre runs the Field and we have to charge everyone who comes to watch the game.
Look for Shawn David and Richardinho to all be a part of the Sidekicks this year. They make there homes in Dallas.
Releasing all the home dates now will enable soccer moms & dads to book their Vegas vacations when they will drop their kids off at Orleans Arena and then go gamble on the Strip... OH MY!
Ya the Legends and Sidekicks better get some fans through the turnstiles early. Like the first and second game, because I know for a fact what it costs to get Orleans Arena and the rink in Allen is also a real arena with real costs. This isn't some experiment. I think these two teams will define PASL for the next 3-4 years. Either they work and can generate 8-10k in game day revenue or they last 5 games and vanish. If it works then PASL and MISL will be on equal footing, if it doesn't it will be another indoor soccer bloodbath. I just hope some lawyer is getting shafted hard if money is lost. Everyone hates lawyers and we can all agree they deserve to take a bath.
Tatu said in a Press confrence that their target is the MISL and if you ask me they are on the right track the first players signed by the team were MISL Players SAGU Shawn David and Richardinho The dalls sidekicks have not even played the blast and wont face the blast but put a beating on us this year
I have to admit CardshopMD........... That would be odd of Tatu to say such a thing. If he is involvled with a PASL club and wants to get into MISL,????? The Sidekicks have spent some money to do this, they have branded themselves well. DFW has newspaper adverts, the team was at the N Texas Youth Soccer Conference a few weeks back as a sponsor with FC Dallas, radio adverts.......this is legit. These guys have a couple of bucks, if they wanted to get into MISL they'd be in MISL now. I really think if the Sidekicks take off it may be a game changer for PASL. This is not the Texas Outlaws where a Pizza restaurant had huge windows looking onto the field in the endzone. The Allen arena isn't cheap and the Sidekicks are making a serious attempt at becoming a great team.
I think its going to take a long time for Dallas to build its fan base for them to leave the PASL if i had to guess it would take at least 5 years .. Syd said it best them pasl operating cost is 1/10th of a misl team and just because he said that does not mean it will ever happien in 5 years I dont see the misl around
I think maybe it was something more like either: "We looked at the MISL and we looked at the PASL and we chose the PASL" Or "We want to build the Sidekicks back to the days of the (original) MISL."
I am going to bet on (B)... reminds me of a certain interview back in 1991, when NPSL champion Chicago Power's Albert Adade was asked how he thought the league champs would fare against the MISL's San Diego Sockers... I believe his words were "THEY'D KILL US."
Sidekicks announce TV and PA voices, some familiar faces on the TV side. http://www.dallassidekicks.net/index.php/blogs/83-sidekicks-announce-familiar-tv-voices-for-2012 http://www.dallassidekicks.net/index.php/blogs/84-sidekicks-name-new-home-pa-announcer They also trotted out the team during pre-game of the last FCD home game, though they didn't announce anyone. No one I recognized, they looked young though.
