Rosický played the full 90 for Arsenal against Blackpool today, started the game in a bit more of a holding role than usual, but the game was blown open by red card against a Blackpool defender. No goals, but some very nice moments of skill and his fitness level looks improved. Arsenal, who do look loaded, won 6-0.

any time Tomas can get a full 90 in at this point in his career after everything that he has been through, is a positive. hopefully it can stay this way for the next 2 years, but i will hold my breath on that one ;)

I can agree with being hesitant, but it was probably the best I've seen from him in years.

Meanwhile, I also caught a half of Chelsea's 0-6 win @ Wigan with Čech starting of course, and by my count he picked 3 flowers, finished the book he was reading, and got a good five minutes of meditation time in... He actually did have a couple of decent saves, but overall another example of the wide gap between the top of the EPL and the bottom.

since you saw Tomas and you say that "in years"... are you referring to his pre-arsenal days, pre-dortmund at sparta days, or are you simply saying this has been the best he has been during the last handful of injury plagued years?

in no way am i attempting to attack or be critical of you... i personally have not seen the performance from today, and am curious, so any expansion on your thoughts would be much appreciated :)

Pre-injury days, so the Dortmund days. The only thing missing was he didn't really try any long shots, but his control and vision were great.

nice, that is great news to read/hear. i could understand tomas not trying any long shots like in years past. the thing about long power shots, i think when those type of players get older, after having injuries they simply do not risk it as much. where as with some of the healthier guys that rarely get injured you may see still from time to time them still blast it when they get older, just not nearly as often. since tomas was definitely one of those injury plagued guys, i do not see him blasting from deep, really ever again unfortunately

While no Czech teams made the Champions League group stage, I've made a list of Czech players that did. Yes, it's that boring of a day.

    Zdeněk Pospěch (FC Copenhagen)
    Petr Čech (Chelsea)
    Martin Jiránek (Spartak Moscow)
    Marek Suchý (Spartak Moscow)
    Emil Rilke (MŠK Žilina)
    Ondřej Šourek (MŠK Žilina)
(*MŠK Žilina has 2 aditional Czech players on roster that I don't believe were picked for CL)
    Marek Jankulovski (AC Milan)
    Tomáš Rosický (Arsenal)
    Tomáš Hübschman (Shakhtar Donetsk)

I may have missed a couple, but I think that is it.

    News of Jan Koller:
he's alright, thanks for him :D 7 goals in 19 matchs with Cannes (D3) and a hat-trick in a friendly match yesterday against Marseille reserve. Not bad for a giant grandpa.

I am surprised Rosicky isnt getting more time at Arsenal. Whenever he starts or comes on he looks amazing. Always changes the game and provides a lot of opportunities. Even my friend who doesnt know much about Rosicky questioned why he was starting constantly. Well now with injuries to Walcott and Persie out even longer, Rosicky will probably play a lot more probably like this

honestly, i think the trust isn't what it used to be for them with him at Arsenal. we know what he can do, and he can still surprise us at times... but for them, if they throw that trust at him, and build around him, to be injured again, i don't think it would be worth it for them. or at least that is what i think. but with injuries, he will probably be thrusted into that position regardless like you were saying

his pk looked a lot worse than it actually was, he barely missed it top shelf... depending on how long Fabregas is out, Rosicky could get a considerable amount of playing time in his absence

even with Fabregas healthy rosicky either starts or subs in. Wenger likes to change his line-ups a lot. One week rosicky starts, and another he sits. This is more based on who they are playing. If it is a weaker opposition then rosicky normally sits and depending on the score he comes in. Now when they play a better team or a match that matters like CL Rosicky is always starting. Especially with RVP out, arsenal only plays on striker and 5 midfielders. It is also a plus that Rosicky has taken up a leadership role on the team. If fabregas leaves arsenal, rosicky will probably be the captain(if healthy) and will start all the time.

I imagine Rosicky will be changing clubs this summer to one where he will be playing more. If Houllier is still in charge of Aston Villa, I could see him playing for us. I also hope Necid moves onto a bigger club.

End of career for Jan Koller at Cannes, he's the 3rd best scorer of the French 3rd division with 16 goals. Cannes finished 5th. Thank you for all.
