Wow, this thread needs some love.... Full time: CAN 2-0 SUI NZL 1-0 SCO SAF 0-1 KOR In prog: ENG 3-2 ITA IRL 2-0 NIR NED 0-1 FIN
Can Interesting results , Switzerland is still a mistery how they keep loosing despite having two of the best european players and very good cast is strange. Scotland loosing to New Zealand and Netherland to Finland are semi surprised , the Finnish girls are one of the best organised team in Europe . Schmidt and Matheson scored for Canada , Camporese two times for Italy ,Nobbs ,Houghton and Clarke for England . I saw England starting eleven and this time I am sure , Bini is a better coach than Powell......
It would be less surprising if you remembered Canada medalled and are 7 th in the world, and heading rapidly to top 5. Switzerland ranks 26. Schmidt's goal was in her 100th cap, and Sinclair sat out her last match under suspension. Powell won with her lineup. Let's see if Bini beats a depleted Brasil team.
A good result for Canada considering they started many reserves and substituted in the regulars. The midfield trio of Matheson-Schmidt-Scott seem to thriving under Herdman's new system. Highlights are on the canadasoccer.com main page.
Thanks Debzy, I was going to post the highlights but you came first... Only a quick note about the difference in coverage between the FA and FIGC: in the english fed. website yesterday a few hours after the match there already was a fair complete report and today the highlights, in the italian one only a short paragraph with the trainer statement ("we played against a very good team, but we helped them to win with some stupid mistakes") and nothing else, neither the starting italian eleven ...really embarrassing...

Canada lose 0-1 to England in the final. Sounds as if England dominated and Canada produced few scoring chances. Not a surprise there considering their less than emphatic victories over Finland, Switzerland and the Netherlands. Taking off Schmidt in the first half had to be a big loss. Impressed that 17-year-old Kadeisha Buchanan got the start in the championship final.
Twitter said " slight injury" Of course that's how the Lloyd prognosis started. I hope it's not serious. She anchors the middle for them.
England winning a tournament ....Ellen White scoring .....What's next ? The sun is shining in London ?........
