In 2005, in the first CWC (of the current format), Saprissa represented CONCACAF; beating OFC's representative, falling to Liverpool, but then beating AFC's representative to win 3rd place.

Since then, no CONCACAF representative has been able to match this (neither win TWO games in a single tournament or WIN a medal)

Since 2006 only Mexican clubs have qualified to the CWC and none of them have managed to win a medal yet. In the meantime, Asia has won 4 medals (all bronze), and Africa has won 1 bronze and also is the only other continent besides Europe/South America to have a team play in the championship (and win silver).

Is CONCACAF getting weaker? Or are the other confederations (Africa and Asia) getting stronger? Why do we keep having such a consistently poor performance in this tournament?

Its hard to say to answer the question you have to check all the team that competed and see how they were going at the time they competed (answer question like were they struggling in the league, did they lose key players at the time, change of management, off-field drama etc.)

also in my belief i think they other confederation are getting stronger

If you are the sort who like to rate these things by a five-year point average, here is my list.

Since Asia is the only continent to have two teams in this (all five years), then I only took the higher-placed team of the two. (Averaging the two would cause them damage in the rankings, because the second team would be much weaker than the overall #2 team in the confed), and moved up all teams below them up.

Hence, there are only six ranks for each year (even though the tournament had seven teams each of these years).

One note on year 2007. That year, there were co-#5's awarded in the tournament bracket; the other years the seven teams had all their own ranks. However, due to the second Asia side beine one of the #5's, this list have a distinct ordering for all continents.

This point system simply gives 6 points to the champion, down to 1 point for sixth place. In this point system Africa and Concacaf end up tied. But in some other point systems that I experiment with (awarding more points for top-two or top-three finishes), Africa somes out ahead of Concacaf due to that one second-place finish.

    Continent; 2011; 2010; 2009; 2008; 2007; [Total]
    Europe; 6; 6; 6; 6; 6; [30]
    South America; 5; 4; 5; 5; 5; [24]
    Asia; 4; 3; 4; 4; 4; [19]
    Africa; 2; 5; 1; 2; 3; [13]
    North and Central America; 3; 2; 3; 3; 2; [13]
    Oceania; 1; 1; 2; 1; 1; [6]

I was going to point out that Asia keeps getting two teams. So thank you. But you should have taken the continental champ, instead of just the higher placed team.

The AFC champion has always had a better final placement than the host club.

Overall I think it's safe to say that the AFC has been the most consistent from the "emerging" confederations at the CWC. The African clubs tend to be a mixed bag, either really impressive or flat across the board (no CAF team has been able to win the 5th place match, even against OFC clubs.) Of course CAF is the only confederation that has been able to disrupt the traditional Europe/SA final.

That sets them apart from CONCACAF for now.

that kids tournament is the most prestigous trophy any Concacaf team has ever won regardless of age, club or nt

I´d rank it ahead of Mexico´s Confederations Cup trophy, Pachuca´s Sudamericana, any of the mexican team´s CCL, and of course the bottom of the barrel that is the gold cookie cup.

LMAO!! c`mon man women`s football is a joke

U17 mens WC title > senior womens NT title

at least in the males U-17 we are already seeing players get playing time in 1st division like Fierro and even scoring goals like Bueno. Like I would ever watch women`s club or nt football lol. a lot of male tournaments would come before a womens WC lol

but we are getting off topic so agree to disagree then

I've been predicting that since 2006. I further predicted a Mexican club would be the first one to disrupt the traditional UEFA/CONMEBOL final.

    Not this year.
