I would like to come up with a semi-official CVI Theme song that can be sung by our entire section at points during games, tailgates, events, etc. This song would be realtively short and simple (especially if I'm going to be leading the way!) and would preferably consist of lyrics put to a relatively well known tune. For example, Joe Higgins came up with this one, to the tune of "Band of Brothers": We are for the Rapids, and we sit in 108 So if you're here, then raise a cheer It's Rapids all the way! We'll root for the Rapids Til the Rapids win the day So if you hear, then raise a cheer It's RAPIDS ALL THE WAY! Whatever song is ultimately decided upon (perhaps through a poll or email voting or committee voting....etc., etc.) I will transfer to poster board and bring to games to try and lead section 108 in unveiling it. I may be thinking too big but I envision a this song becoming the Class VI "signature" of sorts at matches to definitively let the players and crowd know we are there - and maybe, eventually, get people who aren't a part of CVI join in on. So, post your ideas here and thanks! Josh V
I like it, Josh. Daniel and I will sing with you. Three voices is better than none, right? And Daniel's booming voice counts as at least 2 people.
Thanks Beck! I'm actually thinking about just trying Joe's song out - maybe putting the words up on a big poster and then a bunch of us can "lead" the section in the song a few times a game until people get the song memorized. Not sure if I'll be able to get it together for this week's game but definitely the next home match
I'll be at the Sunday FC Dallas game. I can bring songsheets then. Perhaps with the big St. Baldrick's event now past, we can drum up a few voices to join in?
I hope so. I'm going to make posters with the words to Joe's song and try and get it going a few times during the match. Hopefully it will catch on. And thanks for the song sheets! Great idea!
