If you look closely, the tongue doesn't show in that pic.. But it would look horrible if the tongue would remain cactus and everything else is white :S

The tongue is white as well, it's just sitting low inside the shoe.

Fullham, is the white paint supposed not to hit the plastic edges of the sole :)? And if you arent gonna white it out with the paint, what are you gonna use :)?

FulhamFTW, could I use your technique to whiteout a pair of Maestris? They are the black/retro ones.. Is it possible to use acetone on kanga-lite?

Depending on how your SF turn out i might have a go on my V1.10SL, they were white but turf has not been kind to them so a nice blackout could give them a lift. Think i'll wait and see how the leather paint holds up on the synthetic for your first though.

The paint comes off of the plastic fairly easy, even after it dries a little bit. I did paint a little on the plastic, but i have a pretty steady hand, and cleaned it up well. I will be blacking out the sole and will probably use a plastic-specific paint and sealer.

I have not tested it on Kanga-lite, however, I don't see why not. As long as you are gentle with the application of the acetone, you should be fine. I would just apply enough to take off the top layer of finish, which is really thin anyway. Also, keep in mind that when applying the new finish, that you do so lightly. Too much finish and your boots will be sticky.

Anyone have a clue as to what I could use to make a soleplate. I plan on, this winter, making my own boots using the old intertract soleplate as a mold. I have no idea as to what to use in the mold cast though. It must me strong and durable. Thanks.

Not that :) i have seen it before. Once there were a guy in this thread, who had bought a cheap pair of boots with intertract soleplate, and wanted to move remove the upper frm the soleplate and attach it to another pair of boots :)... maybe one year ago or something like that :).

welp, i will be trying make more than one pair and I plan on failing several attempts. I will be doing research for some sort of polyurethane resins as I will need plenty of it. I already have two boots with the intertract soleplate. Any ideas for what material to use for an upper?? I am thinking maybe a couple layers carbon fiber, possibly.

Hey guys, I was going to whiteout my old, beat up Cactus SF's, when I started removing the instep, i thought about trying to let the white nike tick's stay, if i could do it clean. It went out pretty good on the first boot.

Remove it for sure! You want that classic Vapor III look. Although.. If you were to black them out and leave the two Nike ticks white..

    Well....... ;)

I would try to clean them up as much as possible and paint them green like the Pine Green Vaopr IV. Throw on some red laces too.
