Any tips on what to use to black out the soleplates on some cleats? I got a pair of Specialis and want to make the bronze part black (synthetic on the heel) and I would love if it could be done with the same type of dye/paint.

The plastic I don't think could be dyed, well it could but it will just come off the lower heel part, however could be done, if you go to a shoe smith they usually have dyes, look for some synthetic leather dye, comes with a prepper/dye/sponge and a after coat, I blacked out some CTR's this way,

Okay i have no idea how to go about doing this, but i know it is completely plausible if i follow the right steps and use the right products.

so i want to completely whiteout the upper and tongue, and completely blackout the soleplate.

this would be my first custom job ever lol so any advice would really help. the more specific the better.

note, not sure if the image is appearing or not (doesnt seem to be on my screen), but its the "anodized purple f50 adizero prime"

Has anyone tried filling the hollow studs of a Nike AG soleplate with a silicone or epoxy to make it like a solid stud? I like the soleplate but hate having the turf pellets, rocks and dirt etc. getting stuck in the stud holes.

    Any other suggestions?

Does anybody know how to go about permanently blacking out a soleplate, without damaging the boot or without the need to redo it every few weeks?

Got a bit of a problem with my iD Legacy's...
I've got them in FG and have worn them on a few surfaces now (Soft, firm, 3G) and it doesn't matter what surface I wear them on I am in agony for a few days after due to pressure from the circled studs below.
I think they're great other than this but it's making them unwearable. Seems a shame to waste a pair of iDs so can anyone suggest how I could shorten these studs? Maybe sawing/filing them? Need some advice from someone who knows more than me and how I should go about it. Thanks in advance!

I would say sell them--you're better off getting some money back than butchering them and not being able to sell them later on.
Just go buy a boot that fits and works better for you is my advice.

I would use a dremel disc and sand off a millimeter on each problem stud, then go train in them...maybe repeat until a tolerable comfort is achieved. I've don this on a few boots with some success, but they were no Nike ID's.

Or maybe put in a thicker insole too.

I used a sander to sand down my Laser I (same stud pattern as the Legend). If not, drag the stud on pavement a few times. It would file down nicely to to a length that is comfortable.

I've had the exact same problem with my Hyper Venoms and it does actually ease off once you've worn the boot in a little. I wore my yellow ones for the first time tonight and the pain from the stud underneath my little toe (guessing its the same stud) actually made me do a Clinton Morrison and put one of my green HVs on, but that was the same boot on the same foot and I had no stud pressure because I'd worn them a few times.

If you don't want to risk trying to wear them in - I agree, send them back or sell them and get your money back and get some boots that suit your feet. You could probably sand it down but it would void ANY warranty you have on the boots.

    Haha!

It's just full off quirky stuff that's meant a lot to me over the years. Some album artwork, lyrics, mapleleaf and a thistle as a family thing. Some wee things about when I met my wife... Her lips are in hidden in there too. There's a piece about drumming... Think that's it all :)

Has anyone ever tried RIT dye to dye their sole plate? I know it used commonly to dye plastic parts on RC cars I just wonder if it would work the same on soleplates? They also use it to dye rubber on shoes. I Think I'm going to try to blackout a pair of nitrocharges and may use it to black out the rubber.

RIT dying where you add the dye to hot water and soak the item?

When I used to skate, a lot of companies started doing this for the soles/frames/cuffs etc.. but after a while the colour depending on the skate part would wear away

yes thats the stuff seems like a better alternative then using leather dye on the rubber and plastic parts

Nope - but to be hones the pink rubber elements are so minor i don't think it would matter if you did have to keep going over it as it wouldn't finish the over finish of the boot.

I've only used them once but so far so good. It was on grass obviously and it was wet. No wear to show for so far.

Anyone has an recommendations on dyeing the Nike Tick on the Tiempo IV Elites? Not a fan of the green colourways so was hoping to get em changed to either black or a brighter colour.

I believe the NIKEID's have a 3 day return policy so if its really causing problems just return em if its less than 30 days before shipping?
