so what happened with Emelec and Edwin Tenorio? I heard Emelec won't file any charges or a formal complaint, but I have no frame of reference for what happened in the game. Fight?

    Re: CS Emelec

lol yeah Tenorio basically got red carded for no reason (for getting hit...I forget who did it, it might've been Gimenez). Tenorio wanted to CHASE the guy down and beat him b/c he was red carded for absolutely no reason. It was pretty funny. but basically it was just another example of the HORRIBLE reffing in ecuador. It becomes funny at times.

    Re: CS Emelec

Looks like Deison Mendez will be starting at centre back tommorow in the game against San Martin. Two questions: 1) Its a crucial game for Emelec and they're playing a guy who has appeared only twice this season. 2) He's starting a centre back, I thought the guy played as a lateral, on the right flank if I'm not mistaken.

    Re: CS Emelec

Deison is a center back. The reason Emelec is starting him is because Morante is injured, Fleitas in injured, Mariano Mina is suspended and so is Achilier. I think Emelec has the worst luck in these tournaments. They always are short on key players either b/c of injury or suspensions. On top of that Pedro Quinonez, who hasn't played a whole month or so is coming back. They're attacking half is good the problem is the defensive half which is gonna effect them if they don't play seriously

    Re: CS Emelec

When is Morante returning?? The initial prognosis was that he was gonna be out only 3 weeks, he got injured toward the end of Aug so if he did not suffer any setback he should be back soon. Hopefully he can make it back by this weekend so he can get a couple of games on his belt and be ready for a call up for the Oct. friendlies.

    Re: CS Emelec

Morante should be back this weekend in the local campeonato. Latest would be next week. I was quite disappointed that he was injured and had to be discarded from the games vs Mexico & Venezuela. I'd love to see what he can do for the NT in the next couple friendlies, same with Pedro Quinonez who's impressed me a lot this year. His absence in Emelec's midfield has been really noticeable since he's been injured.Polo Wila and company don't cut it

    Re: CS Emelec

This might be the starting lineup that Emelec will play vs U. de San Martín later today: Elizaga, C. Quiñonez, Mendez, J. Quiñonez, Gimenez, Quiroz, Wila, P. Quiñonez, Biglieri, Rojas, Ayoví. U. de San Martín might lineup like this: Butrón, Corzo, Matos, Muentes, Fernandez, Quinteros, Balbín, Hinostroza, Vitti, García, Alemanno. Let's see what happens.

    Re: CS Emelec

Excellent game by Emelec. I am celebrating right now with a big container of cebiche de camarones and a cold bottle of Coor Light. What a victory!!! The whole team seemed inspired as if they were on a mission. Before the game I was a little concerned about U. de San Martín because on paper they appeared to be a good match for Emelec. As I was watching the game and Emelec scored the first 2 goals, I began to see a lot of weaknesses of U. Emelec's offense was deadly. In the second half it appeared that every attack of Emelec was going to be a goal. I could not believe if Emelec ever scored 5 goals against any team in an international tournament. Ayoví 2 goals, Quiroz 1, Gimenez 1 and E. Valencia 1. I guess this victory is one of the best victories of Emelec in the last, at least, 30 years. I am not exaggerating. It is that meaningful. The team and the fans needed it. This victory is more significant because Emelec played with certain players out of position. Amazing. October 6th and October 20th are the next games of Emelec for the Copa Sudamericana. Congratulations.

Cris 09... Barcehater...I like Coors Light because that beer gets me f....d up quicker. I got Coronas also but I wanted to get f....d up. I know your team is f....d up, not able to win games in Guayaquil. 5-0. CINCO a CERO. Didn't that feel nice what Emelec did? I believe so.
