http://www.thecrew.com/news/2014/04/crew-partners-columbus-favorite-jenis-splendid-ice-creams ******** YES!!!!
I didn't want to steal all the fun of clicking the link. Still try and generate some traffic for the Crew site.
Hmmm...nothing about a flag to be raised during the first ten minutes of each half. Hashtag Throwback Thursday.
Local food is what CCS needs to be about. And Jeni does make some righteous IC. So when can we expect to see that wretched Papa John's dreck tossed out of the building in favor of Donato's? And from the looks of the photo I'm guessing Frankie is polishing off his fifth pint of Quadruple Espresso Ganja Delight. Either way, small steps are what gets you to where you want to be. This is one.
Wasn't Donato's offered at CCS at one point? Bill is correct CCS should go local. Every time I visit Columbus I am amazed how much better the food/beer is from the last time I visited.
As a man who lived in Cincinnati for a number of years, I will politely point out that you are a booby and a booby belongs in the booby hatch.
Donatos is crap pizza since they sweetened their sauce. I can't eat their anymore. Papa johns is good for me. Never had Jeni's. But I'm not much for ice cream anyway. Doesn't go well with beer.
Crushing news for the Dippin Dots empire! Also, Kudos to the FO for not making this announcement in Jan when it was -5...they are learning from their mistakes!
Crew could learn from Huntington Park about food selection. Seems like it might not be true that food vendors are limited by the Expo commission. Now get some more food trucks.
I came here to post "stomp your feet for the frozen treat" but I was beaten to it. You guys remember when "sold on hold" advertisements were read aloud during the course of play? Or a motorrrrrrrrrrrrrist insurance corner kick. We've come a long way.
Can anyone imagine how awesome it'd be if they had a full-service Papa John's, Chipotle, Jeni's, Rooster's, Subway, and White Castle on the stadium concourse? Or just a variety of food trucks set up as a food court at every game? People complain about the Crew's location because they can't go down to RBar/GordonBiersch/Boston's/Ted's/BD's/etc. before the game and have some drinks and grab some food before and after the game. With the Upper 90 Club and PreCourt saying he liked the idea of having a real bar/pub at the stadium, why not look to create that food/drink/entertainment atmosphere within the gates? Certainly there'd have to be some work with Sodexo, but it'd be pretty awesome if they could make something like that happen.
I think you aren't allowed to buy Jeni's if you are within 70 miles of CCS. The FO is working to make sure all of it's fans have access to ice cream.
People always say Jeni's is too expensive but all of the places are now. I went to Graeter's last weekend and a malt and a double scoop cone came to $12. Three flavors at Jenis is $6, a sundae is $7.65 it's not much different.
