Isn't the obvious solution to move Dom from center forward to right back? Then he can run forward as much as he wants without having to worry about playing defense.
I'm just not willing to throw the baby out with the bathwater on this. I like that we have an identifiable style and that the style is attack minded. Most of us were wary to borderline terrified that Berhalter was going to be a defense first, slog it out kind of coach based on who he was as a player and his limited coaching record. That does not appear to be the case. We have taken the field in an aggressive manner. We've given up chances because of it. It sucked that TFC beat us. The early goal was a breakdown on many levels. Gonzalez with a terrible clear, Francis with another chance to clear (though much harder than Gonzalez's). Anor and Trapp failing to track Bradley on his run that lead to the shot. Then TFC did what TFC do, they packed it in, conceded the wide areas of the field and made it very difficult to find room for a shot. I'll agree that we didn't help ourselves with all those crosses. But that is something that can be worked out while keeping the general principles of our shape and style intact. This Williams shot is something I like. http://www.mlssoccer.com/matchcenter/2014-04-05-CLB-v-TOR/highlights/249718 A simple square from Anor, Tchani skins Bradley to make a bit of room for himself, squares to Pipa.....Now here is what I don't like. WHY is that ball to Williams not played on the ground? He's wide open. If that ball is on the ground instead of lofted where it bounces and hits Josh in the belly, he really has a chance for a one time shot or a better chance of taking a set up touch for a good finish. Oh well. I'd like to see us cycle it around more like this though. If a team packs it in and we have final third possession, there is no need to rush. The players need to trust each other, work the short combos until the defense breaks down as it did on this play rather than rushing to cross. Gregg knows it, the players know it. SJ saw what TFC did so we have to expect to see it Sunday. I expect growth. We're used to seeing the same tired stuff no matter what. I don't expect Gregg (Extra G for GLORY!) to be oblivious to the issues presented by the TFC game. The passing needs to be sharper though, as I said earlier, I thought Jiminez was a major contributor of poor passes. I wouldn't mind seeing a switch there to facilitate the motion offense more.
I wonder if we will see Paladini, even if for 15-20 mins. Actually it would seem he is more of a Tchani replacement?
I know. I can't believe I wasted that joke before they played the Revs. You can count on it being recycled, though, so you have that to look forward to.
So when my computer and I magically move to Canada on Sunday will I be able to get the game in English via MLS Live?
from MLS Actual injury list seems to be: Crew - Out: Weit Questionable: Paladini San Jose - Out: Lenhart, Hernandez, Muller, Thompson
We're still at the top of the East after everyone important lost yesterday. Now's a great time to get ahead with a game in hand on some teams, but this is where we typically blow it.
These Unimas games are making me sad. I have to go to a shady streaming site and hear my game broadcast in a language I don't understand. If it weren't for the time delay, I might play the radio broadcast over it...
If you're going to go to a shady streaming site why don't you just watch the stream of the English broadcast?
Apparently the poll has closed but I'll vote tie. Anyway I came here to link Jardy's article on opponents figuring out the Crew offense. http://www.dispatch.com/content/sto...s-might-be-solving-crews-crossing-attack.html
If anybody is able to find an English feed and would be so kind to PM it to me it would be greatly appreciated. My usual source only has the Spanish feed.
I'll settle for spanish. Con somebody send anything to me? My MLS live account + VPN is not doing the trick. Why did I pay for mlslive, if I can't watch the away Crew? A little help, peeps?
I love how Pipa can deliver a lecture on tactics to his teammates on the dribble. Not so excited about them needing the lecture.
