WOW one year big ********ing whoop. I didn't subtract his age, he'll be turning 31 by the time the WC starts so i'm not pretending anything you hater. And i'm not a Messi lover, stop assuming things it makes you look dumb. I happen to think he's the best player in the world, thats it. Messi lover, lol get a clue buddy.

    Haha.

It's not a big difference, but I just don't understand why every Messi fan subtracts one year from his age. What's the point? But still - they do it constantly.

That's because his birthday happens in the middle 0f the international summer tournaments, so he begins the tourney at one age (26 for the next WC) and ends it having turned 27.

The only thing retarded is that someone feels it necessary to subtract one year from Messi's age...

There is no difference if he is 30 or 31, but for some reason you guys need to subtract one year from his life... this isn't the only situation this has happened - it's almost like a sickness (Cr7 comparison - you subtract one year). If it didn't happen so regularly I would think it was an honest mistake - but it happens every single time.

And for every intent and purpose Messi will be 31 at the World Cup.

Not if Argentina doesn't make it out of the group :) Then I have to admit I am wrong :D

But well... if a Messi-led Argentina fail to make it out of the group then Messi will be a WC flop yet again and given the whole issue concerned performing at the World Cup than the whole discussion is a moot point anyways :D

And its funny how riled up you guys get about something as irrelevant as Messi's age.

I agree saying that 2014 is his last chance is quite stupid. Messi's biggest issue is whether he can maintain his acceleration and pace. If he loses that then he will be and nowhere near the threat he currently is, as he skill set is killer, but limited in scope.

Captain obvious strikes again. Although tbf his skillset has quite a lot of scope, he is very good at passing and shooting as well, but once his acceleration goes obviously he will be much less dangerous

No, if Neymar was this good and was about 16 then yes he just might.

Obviously he will be in the same class or even better than Messi in some areas, but in my opinion there wont be a player as good as Messi in a very long time, but then again who knows.

Neymar has a lot of flair, and i think he will indeed be one of the best in the world, still need to see him in europe though!.

Agree so .. Neymar is now a rare player equipped well with "most techniques" that a player needs

All he needs is to get playing for big clubs in Europe to earn more experience in "tactics", "physical games" , "tension" and improving his shooting technique + physical shape !

    Yes.
He has the potential, he is very talented and smart in field.
Pelé said Neymar IS already better than Messi, and although Romario and a lot of other people say that "Pelé with his mouth shut is a poet", or "Pelé só com bola no pé" (Pelé only with ball on feet and nothing else), I think we gotta listen to the King every now and then.

You're the clueless troll mate. Neymar is a better all round footballer than Messi who is a one dimensional headless chicken half the time.

He had a couple of close calls and misfired, but the way Argentina is defending he just might get one. Then again, the way Brazil is defending Messi might get a couple more.

refs should awarded two penalties to neymar, besides this is basically an U-23 brasil team vs the best argentina team has to offer and they are holding their own... this game shows that if brasil keeps this young group together for 2014 and add dede, thiago silva and luiz in the back ramires maybe robinho and douglas costa, maybe william and this group will be unstoppable

and stop talking about the 70goals messi scores in europe.. he has a 150million dollar team around him playing teams that hardly reach a 20million dollar payroll of course is easier to score like that when you surround yourself with great players and play teams that probably have one or two world class players

Proof that no matter what great things you achieve there will always be critics who try to put you down.
