Besides the starting 11, Low typically will rotate 5-6 players as substitutes or starters depending on opposition/injuries. Who do you think will be the core team? Please select 16-17 players at most.

    My selection is:

    Neuer
    Boateng, Merte, Badstuber, Lahm, Howedes
    Schweini, Kroos, Khedira
Muller, Ozil, Podolski, Gotze, Reus, Schurrle
    Klose, Gomez

Well that's more or less correct .. but Schurrle just got subbed in for Poldi , So I guess Loew will use him a couple of times as well instead of Goetze I suppose.

Schurrle just scored a great goal also...so I'll add him to the list :)

    Schweini, Khedira, Khedira
Müller, Özil, Poldi, Reus, Schürrle, Götze
    Klose, Gomez

Honestly can't predict which one of the five defenders will miss out (except that it won't be Lahm), although I myself would prefer a Lahm, Hummels, Merte, Boateng back line with Lahm on the right, I don't see that happening. I also think it's key not to have a right footer play behind Schürrle when he's on the left as I think we lose something when neither wide player looks to go down the line and cross.

Jantschke--Hummels-Hoewedes-Lahm would be the perfect starting defense for this euro 2012

So perfect that only Lahm may start.

I really think it will be khadira over kroos..

Kroos looked a little lost out there yesterday, khadira made great runs into the box and had real chances.. I was wondering if he was playing a forward for a second ;)

But then again having both khadira and kroos isn't a bad thing right ;)

Right now it looks like they are figuring out what to do in case they cannot start Schweinsteiger. His injury seems to be worse than expected. Kroos has drawn much criticism for his failed passing in the first half of yesterday's game against Israel, so perhaps if Schweinsteiger is out, then Gündogan or Bender may actually get a chance. Still doubt that however.

Fascinating read. A little bit too long for something that's robotically translated, but what can you do?

Hopefully Jogi also sees the various options available to him and will make proper use of the guys on his team. He has a talented group of players, each of whom should see some playing time.
