The Italian doctor told Elia ....

    Hai fatto male il ginocchio.

    And Elia is thinking ....

The doc wants me to see Pinocchio?

I was hoping to see Esti. I don't get how Conte thinks Full Metal Giacc can be more defensive then Esti.

Are we going to see the 424? :)

a boring draw? i highly doubt it. i say either 2-1, or 2-2 with some extra time, but boring is the last thing this game will be

Prince-Désir Gouano, the young CB we poached from Le Havre last summer, has been added to the squad. It's his first call-up to the senior squad.

Why is Conte experimenting with a 3-5-2? I have never been a fan of the 3-back formations. Plus, we're using Giaccherini as a central midfielder now? Geesh

Looks more like a 5-3-2 to me with Lich and Esti on the wings

Either way, why are we deviating so much from our normal lineup? I understand we cannot play a flat-3-man midfield if we rest both Vidal and Marchisio (by the way, Pirlo also should be rested for this game), why not move to a 4-4-2? Play De Ceglie and Licht as the fullbacks, Esti and Krasic on the wings?

Juve wins it 3-1. Del Piero with a brace including a patented free kick, Boriello puts one away against his former side and Totti converts a bogus PK.

Marco Borriello starts with Alex Del Piero as Juventus welcome his old club Roma in tonight’s Coppa Italia quarter-final.

The teams go head-to-head at the Juventus Stadium in Turin, kick-off at 19.45 UK time, in this one-off game.

Borriello moved to the Bianconeri on loan at the start of January and makes his first start against his former teammates, joined by Del Piero.

Antonio Conte adopts a 4-4-2 system to counter Luis Enrique’s 4-3-3. Andrea Pirlo does play with Emanuele Giaccherini and Marcelo Estigarribia, although Claudio Marchisio and Simone Pepe are out injured.

Roma are without Pablo Daniel Osvaldo and Daniele De Rossi, but rotate the squad much less than Juventus have.

Fernando Gago and Fabio Simplicio take over in midfield, while Bojan Krkic is given the nod to complete the trident with Francesco Totti and Erik Lamela.

Juventus: Storari; Lichtsteiner, Barzagli, Bonucci, Chiellini; Estigarribia, Marrone, Pirlo, Giaccherini; Del Piero, Borriello

Juventus bench: Manninger, De Ceglie, Vidal, Pazienza, Krasic, Quagliarella

Roma: Stekelenburg; Taddei, Kjaer, Heinze, Jose Angel; Simplicio, Gago, Pjanic; Lamela, Totti, Bojan

Roma bench: Lobont, Rosi, Juan, Viviani, Perrotta, Greco, Borini

Quags on the bench? If so, then I need to remove him from the injured list.
