For a long time, RJ teams struggled w/ international cups. There's a chance Vasco will be relegated.

Flamengo is doing well... and if Flamengo makes it next year and SPFC doesn't, or Flamengo advances farther than SPFC does, I'd definitely root for Flamengo.

Good luck vs. Atl.-PR. I was a Coritiba fan in my childhood, so I hope that at the end, many in Rio are joyfully singing the age-old refrain "... cante comigo Mengão!"

It is going to be hard for Cartolas to sleep on Rildo during the next transfer window. This back heel he pulled off was out of this world.

If Ponte wins and makes the Libertadores WHILE in the Serie B......would be the second year in a row that happens.

Ponte Preta played the game of its life last night - this was even more significant than ousting Velez Sarsfield in Argentina. I want SPFC to come back, but if SPFC doesn't, then I hope Ponte Preta wins it all. I'd rather have a Brazilian team win continental competitions. Besides, it'd be a shame for them to eliminate Velez AND SPFC only to be eliminated by either Lanus or Libertad: the latter has no international titles and the former only won the 1996 Copa Conmebol. Both haven't the tradition that SPFC does and which Velez earned in 1994... against SPFC.

I can't wait to watch the match Wednesday I know everyone will be rushing home from work to see it lmao. Expect a show from Rildo that is a big reason to watch also consider we are pretty much in the offseason of the brasileirao. I also want to see what you guys think of baraka and uendel.

Ive seen most of the second half and Ponte doesn't look good. Rildo can't be too fancy and waste possession.

Yea.. He hasn't gotten a few foul calls he's accustomed to but no excuse, the whole match has been physical. At least Jorghino took off the third volante after the goal.

Sounds like Ponte had a good first half, but Lanus sat back deep and blew a chance at the end of the half with Silva. Ponte looks a bit gassed right now...

Big goal, but still would have to win or score a goal or more with a draw to win or go to PKs.

Felipe Bastos is a great free kick taker. 9 goals since 2010.

    He learned with the expert.
