And in a way we are keeping the rest of Concacaf(with the exemption of the US) from growing. If it wasn't from the fast dollars "paisas" bring to the coffers of concacaf the Gold Cup would be rotated among other members and that could help them with infrastructure and stuff like that. Or maybe the Gold Cup would have a better format, and played every four years instead of the retarded every other year they do.
I don't think Mexico is keeping the Gold Cup from rotating. There are really no countries interested in hosting the darn thing. None. Canada a few years ago showed some interest in hosting a Group but even that was really nothing serious.
Seriously? Dude even the Centroamericans countries wanna host it, but with a bad infraestructure and (you have seen it) stadiums that have more mud than grass is impossible!
FWIW, last year, when then-interim CONCACAF President Alfredo Hawit talked about hosting major tournaments in Central America, the Gold Cup never crossed his mind. Add in the next Copa Centroamericana likely being held in the US (ostensibly for UNCAF's 25th anniversary), and it appears they're more than happy to take your money and run.
I agree. Vancouver, Toronto, Edmonton, Ottawa, Montreal could do an okay job. Still would not be as profitable as a USA gold Cup but it can be profitable.

Mexico vs Panama is a pretty good game in the CONCACAF context. Tickets have been on sale for a while and the Rose Bowl is pretty accessible....but I didn't want to buy tickets and end up watching a match against Martinica. Now that I know there's a solid opponent it's a no-brainer.
Yep. One of the reasons Chicago Fire signed Blanco many moons ago was so they could increase their appeal with the local Mexican market. We've also had some friendlies there and I'm fairly sure we played the 2007 Gold Cup final in Chicago. Attendance seemed high for all of these aforementioned games.
