Not directly related, but today Parana Clube beat Atletico Paranaense (2nd place in 2005 Libertadores) 3-1 in Atleticos stadium, meaning Parana goes to the Capeonato Paranaense final.

This victory should add confidence to the team winning during the next round, as they are now the undesputed best team in Parana

Also, I wore my Parana shirt today (in Boston) and a guy from Minas recognised it and staretd talking to me. Fun!

Cerro Porteno really offered a typical performace, they went for the tie, and ended up with a loss.

Cucuta on the other hand played their hearts outs, game could have gone either way, good display of attacking futbol.

Cienciano y Toluca no se deben confiar. Boca is gonna go all out, with all due respect to the bolivian brothers here, and the rival certainly helps (Bolivar).

This edition of Bolivar is the suckiest ever to go to Libertadores. They're second to last in the league right now and they finished sixth in the last tournament. I find it nearly impossible that they get anything.

That's a Typical Cerro Portenio performance, they will find a way to "NOT WIN" they are the AL Bundy's of International soccer.

Another "close" group, although this one was skewed because the teams were already qualified.

Am I correct in saying that Caracas will be playing Santos?

If so, ouch, they should have won or tied today just to avoid that

You mean in the Libertadores only?

Estudiantes beat Sao Paulo in the quarters of last year's Libertadores in Argentina.

Necaxa beat them this year in Mexico.

    As for the Morumbi:

Boca beat Santos 3-1 at the Morumbi for the 2003 Libertadores.

Chivas beat Sao Paulo last year at the Morumbi in the group stages of the Libertadores even though Sao Paulo dominated them in the Semi's.

Last year Boca tied tied Sao Paulo 2-2 at the Morumbi for the Re-Copa. The match was extremely dominated by Boca and Sao Paulo's second goal came off a really stupid own goal by Boca.
