Thanks for making the thread mate.

We have a very tough trip against Malaga after this match. Saying that, we should not take this match lightly...

    Pinto
    Montoya - Bartra - Masch - Alba
    Song
    Thiago - Fabregas
Tello - Messi - David Villa

Tito won't be present, he'll travel to yet US for treatment.

    Pinto
    Montoya Bartra Mascherano Adriano
    Jonathan Song Thiago
    Tello Alexis Villa

I'd like for that to be the starting lineup, although it's likely that Cesc, Alves, and Messi may start this. Don't think we should risk them though, just have them on the bench as options in case things go wrong.

Looking forward to this though. If we hold on to our lead, we'll face Malaga in the quarterfinals and with the league fixture this weekend also being against them, it'll be 3 Barca-Malaga games in 10 days. If LPB go through tomorrow, they will also face Valencia 3 times but all meetings coming one after the other.

^ and possibly Barca will play Valencia 3 games in-a-row, I think.

That would have been correct initially, but the Copa semifinal second leg won't take place until February 27 after the switchup on the fixture scheduling last month. Assuming we get past Cordoba and then Malaga, while Valencia beat LPB/Celta, we would play them in the Copa semi first leg on January 30 at Camp Nou, then in the league three or four days later at the Mestalla, and then the Copa semi second leg would be on February 27 at the Mestalla. In between the league and the second Copa meeting, we have to play four games (Getafe (H), Granada (A), Milan (A), Sevillla (H)).

All I want to see from this game is Thiago take control!!! I'm kinda tired of seeing him on the field, pulling a couple of sweet (but ultimately aimless) jukes, glorious cross field field passes (that don't end up going anywhere), but rarely contributing to dangerous attacking moves. Dude is probably as skilled as Iniesta but doesn't have a tenth of the influence on the game that the other mid's do. Come on Thiago!!!

thiago isn't doing any worse than iniesta or xavi did by the age of 21. growing into the players xavi and iniesta are today took years, not days. thiago's doing just fine.

Very true, that does remind me of the Baggy Shirt Iniesta version that I often wondered about. Skills were obvious to see, but seemed to operate solely on the periphial of the game. Which is my beef with Thiago...fair enough!
