which is fairly interesting, since they dont tell that to European players when the Euro is going on, and that is a longer tournament. Maybe its hypocrisy from europe and some sides not caring as much

Aside from that playing for their national team is like playing for pride and joy and playing for their club is like going to work and getting a good pay check

but sometimes it is also a personal choice. dunga has said that he will likely not bring a full-strength squad. then again, he is probably making experiments to figure out what team to use once the WC qualifications start.

I just hope Mexico isn't in the USA's group. We just beat them 2-0 but I want to play new teams.

Argentina, Brazil, and Venezuela will be in different groups correct? Are there any other stipulations of teams that can't be grouped together? Are there pots or is it a random draw? Is it possible for the U.S. and Mexico to be in the same group?

I don't care what group Chile ends up in, I think we have a team to challenge any group...I'd prefer if Venezuela and Paraguay are not in the same group though... ;)

I believe it's mostly a random draw. Sometimes they will put teams already into groups, but it doesn't happen that often. They'll also put teams into groups before the draw due to geographical location (bordering countries) to attract more tourists from X country and such.

On paper, you would think Chile has it easy with that draw, but playing a new type of Venezuela with all their guns blazing at home + a tough US side isn't that easy.

    I never said that.
But we just beat Venezuela in Maracaibo and they were only missing Arango. ;)
I've never personally understimated the US; and I know we would probably beat Bolivia.

We just beat Venezuela... at home... and we were missing a few players as well. Taking the right precautions USA shouldn't be much of a problem either.
