    This is awesome.

Kid needs to get a look with the U-20's ASAP!!!

before he gets poached by the FAI.

MLS ought to fax him a GenAd deal for 2011 immediately.

Tanner Boyle. "Crud, Lupus. Maybe if you wiped your nose sometimes, kids wouldn't pick on you so much."

Buttermaker: "Hey Boyle, what happened to you."
kid: "he got in a fight.
Buttermaker: "Got in a fight? With who?"
    other kid: "The seventh grade."

    And.....CAP HIM NOW!

great for him. A dual-national, though. All we need is another one.

I'd say more than half of our prospects going forward will be dual-nationals. Something close to half of American citizens have a foreign born grandparent, atleast. And, the player pool for soccer skews toward families that have a relatively recent foreign influence.

This is going to be an ongoing theme.

He scored on of the goals in a 2-0 victory. Seems like he's having a pretty good trial.

I think the trial seems to be over and he's a Derby player now.

    Re: Connor Doyle

I am biased as a family friend. Conor signed with Creighton and was enrolled there this past Spring. His dad, (who, among other things, coached my daughter) is a grand fellow and Irish to boot. Naturally, it only makes sense Conor got an Irish passport to help with the work permits. Conor played for Texans 92 Red, winning Dallas Cup and National Championship at U16, and losing in National Final game at U14. His mom is a member of Dallas Cup staff, and he's a great kid. Started off playing on a Comets SC team at U11 with Bryan Leyva. Good kid, great family and I wish him only the best.

    Re: Connor Doyle

I just put together that he is the son of former indoor soccer star David Doyle. (Hey, I never claimed to be real bright.)

So the kid has good bloodlines. If the elder Doyle had come out of college in 97 instead of 87, he probably would have been a good MLS player. He was a really good indoor player.

Also, that yet another son of a player I saw play back in my youth is now a pro makes me feel really old.

The old Dallas Sidekicks were big players on the international landscape this week

    Son - Dad
    Dillon Powers - Mike Powers
    Alex Molano - Willie Molano
    Conor Doyle - David Doyle

My nephew's name is Connor Doyle. Here he is eating his first hot wing:

(yes, I just wanted an excuse to post that picture)

Needless to say, I have a new favorite soccer player. I'll be following Connor the Elder's career with interest.

Most likely since it was the last pre-season game. Sort of a last chance to impress before the season starts.

Conor played nearly every minute of soccer for Creighton's spring soccer schedule. He was amazing, held the ball up well, and has excellent footwork, a true #9. He would have started up front for the Jays as a freshman and spearheaded the attack. Very tall and well built striker. One to watch.

Seen all three players for a couple of years. I think Powers has the most upside hands down. Doyle is a good player. Molano I think is a real longshot.
