Connor Doyle Has anyone heard of him? He is trial-ing with Derby County. Heard his name on sky sports highlights. Re: Connor Doyle I can't find much other than he plays for Dallas Texans. His dad is this guy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Doyle_(soccer) so he (Connor) is eligible for an Irish passport.

Re: Connor Doyle Clint Dempsey, Jared Jeffrey, Omar Gonzalez and others have played for the Texans, they're one of the better youth clubs in the country. Doyle would be another in that line, though I suppose it could end up in the inevitable USA vs Ireland dual-nationality debate.

Re: Connor Doyle Dallas Texans were an old name of the the AFL/NFL Kansas City Chiefs franchise as well as the name of the vagabond team of the 1950's, that was disbanded and whose rights were sold to Carol Rosenbloom to be operated as the Baltimore Colts.

I think the reason Texans can get away with having clubs with the name "Texans" in it is because Texas is such a different place, Texas stands alone as basically the most independent and probably most famous state, several times when i've been out of country and people ask where I'm from I say "Texas" it doesnt really fly with other states though.

I don't know if it's been reported earlier in the thread, but we have an American ownership group too. Many of you may only remember us for our disasterous Premier League season a couple of years ago and Benny Feilhaber's miserable time here, but we're a real soccer city with a great history and 'I believe' a bright future under Nigel Clough, Johnny Metgod and the team.
