Martino won't last long, everyone is already getting tired of his questionable call ups and stupid formations.

I hope Mexico scores a few more so the guy's idiocy finally gets exposed and we can bring in Pumpido.

And Da Silva as great as he was is done he's mainly at fault for all the goals, Roman should have been called up.

Paraguay has a long tradition of not giving a hoot about friendlies. Frankly, if they didn't play any, they'd be ranked #10 or so by FIFA.

But they play many friendlies, and lose almost all of them. No idea why they even bother.

Martino is too passive, Paraguayans players are mentally lazy and if it's not worth it for them, why bother?

The team needs a coach thats gonna kick them in the ass and make them work hard in any game.

While I would never want Chilavert as a coach, I would want him to be involved with the team somehow, he would make these guys bust their ass even if it's a friendly vs the Solomon Islands.

You really think the guy that took Paraguay to the WC QFs should get fired?

It's not just about going to the QF, people make it seem like he himself played and took the team to the QF.

We scraped to the QF, only 1 win in the group including a 0-0 draw vs NZ.

Yeah we played better then Japan but in the end still couldn't score and went trough on penalties.

Against Spain, it was a totally winnable game but he decided to play Cardozo instead of Barrios who has been by far the best forward for Paraguay and didn't even put in Barrios until the last 8 minutes of the game.

And now? Continues to insist on calling Cardozo who has been proven to be a failure, calls up scrub players like Marcos Caceres and fat Nestor Ortigoza instead of up and comers like Adalberto Roman and Nestor Camacho. Calls up old players instead of fresh up and comers and insists on using a 4-3-3 formation that doesn't work for Paraguay.

To summarize, he continues to use the same system that has continuously failed and his bonehead decisions are costing a team that has tons of potential.

Yeah he took us to the quarters but you gotta look at the big picture.

    Big Picture ?

Paraguay has only got in Quarter finals only once in its full history, as its best overall achievement in the WC. Maybe some prefer the "smaller" picture instead, the ones that got them eliminated in prior instances..........

Frankly I dont know what he expects.
Martino overachieved by getting them to where he got them in the WC with this team.
Where are their stars? They have none. Just a bunch of good players and a good team but no stars.
You get by in the Qualifiers with a good, disciplined and "well coached" team but to do well in the WC you need stars.
    What do they want?

They're not Uruguay, for God's sake!

Maybe you should read my post, when I mean big picture I don't mean going past the quarterfinals, I mean overall attributes.

What I said is I don't agree with Martino's choices, yeah he went to the quarters but against a better team his poor judgment in selections and formations where exposed.

But if you wanna be simple minded and worship him just because he scraped to the quarters then go right ahead.

Yes Uruguay please teach all of us how to go far in the WC. We all know why Uruguay went as far as they did.

    Anyone has the answer?

A show of hands please :p
