This is the area that was originally envisioned for the Olympic Village. It's an area that the city is looking to redevelop.
you guys think fc new york will aim for mls after they start in usl in 2011, if they actually start that is!!!!
FCNY can't aim for anything but HOPING they can get started in USL-1 That club is a joke, and the people behind it are clueless.
not sure where to put this, (already in the NYC expansion boards) Garber on NY1... the headline is an error btw... http://www.ny1.com/content/124077/m...sioner-wants-to-move-n-y--red-bulls-to-queens

Who saw Salt Lake coming before they got in? Hardly anyone. I forget who the front-runner city was then, the sure fire deal, but they didn't get in. I'm sure Garber would like it to be NYC and I'm sure the groups who want it are working on it. It could happen. However kids, if another investor group with deep pockets and a nice little setup faxes a proposal to His Donosity, I don't care if they represent Muscle Shoals- they're #20. It is all about the money and the situation. You can wear all the throwback TOFFS Cosmos gear you want, appoint Pele as your Personal Savior, and start websites with 30+ year old clips from now until the crack of doom...but it is all going to boil to down who has the best finances and best situation first. Whether that's Queens with Kemsley (and Wilpon) or Whodiditandran in Terre Haute.
You are 100% spot on! That is why i keep saying - just get the deal done! Get it done before another Madoff, another investor in another city - just get it done! What boggles me is how much Garber keeps talking about it - hes like a kid at christmas. From my talks with some guys at MLS - if Garber speaks about a city, there is some meat behind it - so I wonder, what happens when Garber wont shut up about a city. Im cautios but excited!
Don Garber called in today on a radio interview having to do with Jaime Moreno & he mentioned that he was on a business trip to Syracuse. Who knows? Maybe Syracuse will end up being #20.
