The next version of BigSoccer is nearly ready. Faster pages. Cleaner code. Neat new look. Dozens of new features. Improved Premium Membership.

We will close the Boards on Sat. March 20 at approximately 9AM Eastern for up to 30 hours, though likely less than 8.

Additionally, we will close the entire site on Friday 3/26 at 11PM Eastern for no more than 4 hours for a major hardware overhaul.

So, what you are saying is... the weekend of the 20th is a good time to plan some alone time with the girlfriend?

Huss should we expect any material on here might be lost in the process. I'm not trying to save some 2332234234 page long NSR thread, just that our forum has become a bit of an appendix, should be be making sure to have things saved on our invidual hard drives?

Nope. We back up to tape weekly, back up to disk nightly, and will be turning the boards off, and backing up to tape and disk before we run the upgrade.

Thanks thats good to know. Any plans to deal with the massive civil unrest that will come from having Bigsoccer shut down for 40 hours? Is there a Bigsoccer Bunker we can go to?

Great idea, Nancy. And I'll have mine running, if it helps.

And I did a check at work tonight, I'll have one live match on available to me here (that info for the regulars of the Yanks Abroad forum).

For point of reference, it's the Man Utd v Tottenham Hotspur match-- "Goalie Wars" showdown between Tim Howard and Kasey Keller-- and I'd be glad to arrange an AIM chatroom to PbP purposes.

Should also add that if someone wants to do a PbP on AIM for Carlos Bocanegra's return from suspension when Fulham meets Chelsea, that would be greatly appreciated as well.

Especially with Fulham's official site having free live audio webcasts, complete with the commentary stylings of Gentleman Jim. :)
