What a ********ing win!!!Theres no stopping Chicago Fire from winning the MLS now, what other team in the MLS could go to DC Utd and win 4-0???Noone!! Sport in Chicago is on a big high now,the Bears are going to the playoffs in the NFL and the White Sox won the Baseball even if baseball is boring
I call 'em like I see 'em, and considering that any questionable calls came in the 2nd, and not the first half, I'm inclined to stick to my position.... which Steve Goff seems to share: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/10/30/AR2005103000769.html "United fell behind after 10 minutes, sunk deeper late in the first half and was out of it when Ivan Guerrero's rocket streaked into the net just before the intermission whistle. The crowd of 20,089, appropriately dressed in black, showered the players with jeers..." The Magpie
There's something surreal about seeing Revs fans trash-talking United and its fans ... on the board of the Revs' next opponent. I wonder if they'll regret their applause if the Fire play their next game like they played yesterday. If Chicago does that again, they'll beat the Revs. Maybe not 4-0, but they'll win again.
Phoey. If she didn't post anything about it, the other half of DCU supporters would be screaming about not knowing the plan for next weekend. Some people are never happy. But me, I'm happy. Who's coming to NE next week and who do I talk to about tickets?
I think people wouldn't be making an issue of it if the post had been more to the tune of "If we beat Chicago...yadayadayada" instead of "We're confident about the victory so we've planned this thing...."
As someone else has noted, Booth is from Baltimore, and you guys wouldn't beat the Blast unless you got John Ball back.
The Fire played a helluva game y-day no doubt. I hope they can keep up the style of play for next week.
I'm glad Knave didn't listen to you and close the now-locked "bad mojo thread until it was too late."
Again, phoey. K is a fan, and is supposed to be utterly confident in the skillz of the 11 guys on the field who were the only people in DC yesterday who had any say in if they advanced or not. To believe otherwise indicates that real fans need to wail and moan and despair about their team before and during the game in order to avoid jinxing it. When I mentioned to some friends from DC yesterday that I hoped they had a bad evening with a quiet ride home I was engaging in the same behavior, overconfidence in my team. But it's my team that proved me right, not the words I said beforehand. But again, that's not important now, what is important is who's going to Foxboro with me next Sunday!?
It's one of those be careful what you say type things. I didn't say the White Sox are going to win the WS until it was the 3 rd out in the 9th inning of the 4th game. He is a fan of his team and I respect that, but making a thread like that can end up being a real big put your foot in your mouth moment. Regardless, it is time to think about NE now and get ready for the match.
Congratulations! Watched every minute and enjoyed seeing your guys dismantle that arrogant evil empire. Fire v. Galaxy at PHP would suit me just fine!
No, they only used subs #2 and #3 at the start of the 2nd half. Remember, Boswell came on in the 5th minute.
Moved up? Stewart started the game as the right mid, guarding Dema, who was DC's left mid. Our starting lineup was: Thornton Brown - Curtin - Sega Stewart - Pause - Marsch - Guerrero Thiago Rolfe - Jaqua Logan was a stay at home (man marking) d-mid. Marsch roamed around much more than Logan did. And Stewart was out right from the beginning of the game.
You know what? Your post is almost exactly what I was saying to the DC fans who tried to ********-talk us after the game last night. Loser DC Fans: "New England's going to kick your ass next week!" Me: "Yeah, that's fine, we already got ours. Let me know when your tee times are."
Section 8 on tour visited the Lincoln Memorial before the game, and, in-between photo shoots with Japanese school girls, we also managed to get a few words of encouragement from Honest Abe.
