These are the CCL qualifying round first legs. The 2nd leg of this round is a week later.

The group stage which includes the Dynamo starts on August 18. We do not have any MLS league games that would directly conflict with our CCL group games.

Relevant part of the Dynamo schedule:

Sat 8/15 MLS Real Salt Lake v. Dynamo
    Wed 8/19 CCL Group - Round 1
Sun 8/23 MLS Dynamo v. S. Sounders FC
    Wed 8/26 CCL Group - Round 2
    Sun 8/30 MLS C. Rapids v. Dynamo

POSSIBLE GAME: Tue 9/2 USOC Final
Sun 9/13 MLS Columbus Crew v. Dynamo
    Wed 9/16 CCL Group - Round 3
Sat 9/19 MLS Dynamo v. Real Salt Lake
    Wed 9/23 CCL Group - Round 4
    Wed 9/30 CCL Group - Round 5

Sun 10/4 MLS Dynamo v. KC Wizards
Sun 10/18 MLS Dynamo v. LA Galaxy
    Wed 10/21 CCL Group - Round 6
Sun 10/25 MLS Chivas USA v. Dynamo

In fact, the Dynamo schedule has been somewhat front-loaded (or middle-loaded) to make room for CCL play. The Dynamo play only 5 MLS games in the last 8 weeks of the season. It is still going to be busy two months -- but some breaks are there and it is not near as bad as last year.

Only one more road trip in August. That's good.

Away at Pachuca before the return leg. That's good.

The games late in September are right in our MLS gap. That's good.

At Metapan the last week of MLS. Not great.

    Overall, pretty good.

...and my birthday as well. The only piece left to fall in place is for Pachuca to advance over Jalapa. I *WILL* be at this game.

I'm in for Pachuca. I don't want to miss that opportunity.

The other road trip I wanted to do was Panama (hoping Arabe Unido advances over Olimpia) or maybe even Honduras. However, there are about three days this fall when I've got work meetings I can't miss and they picked on of them for that game.

The Dyn'mo have 5 games in 18 days, then 13 days off, then 6 games in 22 days, then 14 days off, then 3 games in 8 days to end the season.

    Whew.

The terms "off of probation" and "would kill to go" probably shouldn't be used in the same post.

note that the date for the first group stage game against Metapan is now Wed, 8/19, not Tue, 8/18. CONCACAF site and Newtex's big list do have the corrected date.

Chaco Gimenez is a monster. Pachuca played like crap and they still destroyed Jalapa 3-0.
