She is Exhibit A supporting my long standing assetion that D1 women's pro soccer will come back under some MLS umbrella of some sort. It's inevitable. The men have the stronger and better infrastucture and some of their more visionary PR and marketing guys already are on board. It will take a few more years for a critical mass to follow.

The Sounders Women were purchased in November 2011 by Lane Smith and Cliff McElroy. The pair also own the Sounders U23s of the PDL.

They have a loose affiliation with the MLS Sounders through the PDL partnership and the Sounders let them use a modified logo.

Paul Allen's Vulcan Group is a minority owner of the Sounders.
