Was that the series finale or season finale? That ending felt like the show coming back is up in the air and if it isn't renewed they wanted to have some closure. Either way it wasn't very good, felt like the writers realized the doppelganger story line wasn't working so they jammed paintball into it. Which if you ask me is such a disservice to previous paintball episodes that were so good.
Even though it had a few decent episodes, overall this fourth season was pretty pointless. The season finale might have been the weakest episode yet.
Even if it's not as good as it used to be, it's still decent. Besides, anything that gives me more Alison Brie is a good thing.
Not one show in that new lineup sounded interesting to me. NBC should start an ad campaign where they tell us the past few years was a nightmare and just bring back Law & Order already. If Chicago PD is like the Chicago PD in Chicago Fire, I'm not interested. Sorry Dick. I could enjoy Go On. I felt I had to be brain dead for Guys with Kids. That belonged on CBS or ABC Family. 1600 Penn was always going to be horrible without a major retooling. Whitney was Whitney. I just wish 2 Broke Girls was canceled by CBS also. The New Normal was just another lazy garbage show from the most overrated director in television, Ryan Murphy. I was surprised Smash lasted as long as it did with that budget.
I love Alison Brie, but "Community" deserves better than to have devolved into an Annie eye candy vehicle. There were one or two episodes that approached the quality of the first three seasons, but the rest fell well short of that quality. The lack of creativity of the season finale leads me to believe that the current showrunners are suffering from serious creative anemia.
This last episode was a result of two things. Leaving character development open, and trying to end it as if it were the series finale. As a writer, im sure this was hell to write with those oppositions pulling at one another. I personally think they handled it the best way they could, but i would have had the second to last episode as the finale. And no matter all the bitching, im sure most of you are still going to watch the 5th season.
There's one thing I don't get. Chevy Chase is reported to have left the show as early as November, yet he was still in the season finale? So I am to assume that this episode was recorded early on in the shooting schedule?
Going off of wikipedia, the production codes are all over the place versus the actual episode airings.
Damn, they should have killed this off. This season was tough to stomach. Is there any chance of Dan Harmon coming back to rescue it now that Chevy is gone?
There have been some rumors, but even if NBC decides to bring him back, would Harmon want to? One thing I took away from that Grantland piece they did about him a little while ago was the fact that he seemed "over" the disappointment of having lost his baby and had moved on.
http://www.grantland.com/blog/holly...harmon-is-definitely-coming-back-to-community Harmon is returning. Not sure what he will do with season four. They could always just do this with Jeff as Bobby and dean Pelton as Pam.
If Dan Harmon is indeed returning, then HOORAY!!! However, that would pretty much confirm that Chevy Chase won't return. -G
That was already confirmed I believe, and is likely part of the reason why Harmon is being brought back into the fold.
