The Rope homage was fantastic, and I thought the overall feel of it was right - they just did their thing, dropping in their references without specifically telling you what's up. It was also particularly strong because the stakes felt real: people going to school care about their grades (these people do, anyway). And they did away with a lot of the treacle until the end. Lack of Pierce was also a strong point.
It was good. Not great, but a sold episode all around. They seem to be consciously underusing Chevy, especially in the second half of this season. I wonder what's behind that.
So... um... *cough*Chevy*cough* Is it horrible that I checked to see if he is still alive during the show?
When he fakes a heart attack? That was from a flashback. Another fun episode. This season is making up for the crap we saw last season.
I mean, it was implied. Since Pearce had a few run ins with ice cream machines in past seasons along with faking heart attacks. But Pearce wasnt shown fully in this episode hopefully the writers give him a decent farewell.
Ah, i see. No, it looked like a double to me- especially how they only showed his torso and legs behind the counter when he was on the ground.
The best thing about that episode was the magnitude creation myth imo. I have enjoyed this season - but it hasn't carried the torch well. Still... better and funnier and more thought provoking than most comedy out there.
high school annie busted me up ... especially when she was getting all manic listening to the awards troy was racking up.
Regardless, I'm pretty sure the secondary character creations were better than the primary characters for me.
It wasn't until I recalled my disappointment from the Parks & Recreation thread that I realized this was another paintball finale.
