Insulting, yet not at all surprising. Plus, we get to play for the privilege of hoisting the Phillip F Anshutz Trophy . It just never stops.
Interesting that Wolff considers Oakland too far away to accommodate San Jose Earthquakes fans, but also seems to assume Oakland A's fans will follow his team to San Jose.
Not sure this is what Wolff believes. I think he believes that the team will have much greater support in San Jose than they do in Oakland (both from the fans and corporations). I think it has less to do with current fans than the potential for new ones. Based on the Shark's experience and the interest in the A's in San Jose during the playoffs, I think he is probably right.
The "Buck Shaw headache" is now gone for 2012 at least... However, it may well return in 2013/14/15, before S.J. stadium is up. The league better figure out something BETTER in the next season(s) and announce it BEFORE the season commences. Meanwhile, maybe the stop-gap measures for now would be: If SJ were to host the final, it will be held at the nearest SSS, which is... HDC??

That is if the Quakes make it that far. As long as MLS is still wanting a playoff and if AEG/LAndy & Company are around,Quakes can go undefeated and still lose to those Gals in the first round.
