crzdcolombian I remember you asking how MLS clubs sign so many foreign players. One of the ways they do it is getting their players green cards quickly. For instance, Perlaza who signed just last year, already has his green card and, consequently, doesn't count for an international roster spot.
Turns out Fabian Castillo born in Cali Colombia and played in the sub 20 for colombia will play for the US national team.
i think he's just trying to get the colombians federations attention…but it won't lol..how many strikers do we need?
Who cares barely a star in the MLS. Shouldn't have left Cali and maybe be in a better league. Cali really sent s bunch of their top prospects to die Joke is on Castillo tho. US just caps players so they can use them later or not lose out on them later. I see them capping his once cap tying him and never using him again. Tho the U.S. is short on strikers. At 22 it's pretty early to give up hope that your actual NT won't call you up in the future. I mean when you are 27/28 fine but come on what is it with these players. WC is 4 years away learn to wait!!
The amount of Colombian strikers who are killing it all over the globe is damn ridiculous. If the kid gets a look from the USA I wouldn't blame him for going for it. It'll help his career. Just looked at the stat sheet and he's having a pretty good year it seems.
Yea but at 22/23 if he wants Colombia he should wait. I would understand if it was this summer and they would take him to the WC Just getting called up to Copa Oro isn't good enough. Isn't he young enough for the Olympics for us?
Nope. The tournament will be players born '93 and younger. Quintero's squad + this one coming up. I'd take John Codoba, Brayan Perea, and Joao ahead of him as is. Muriel or somebody would be the overage guy.
As much as I would love to see him and Agudelo play together I don't believe he is eligible for he USA.
He's only been in the US for a most a year...doesn't it take longer to get a US citizenship, shit just residency for a states takes a minimum of 3 years.
I believe it could take up to 7 years or more unless he marries an American. Then it will take over 3 years or so if that happens. But as I said, he can't play for the US since he played in the U17 World Cup for Colombia.
