Jhonny Arteaga and Jose Angulo have been signed by the New York Red Bulls. Both have been on trial all preseason and have shown well. I'm not sure if there was a Jose Angulo thread in this forum before but he was once thought of as one of the best young talents in the US, having grown up in New Jersey after being born in Colombia. Arteaga, born in Cali, grew up in Stamford, Connecticut tore up the US 3rd Division(USL Pro) last year and was signed after a successful preseason. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2012/03/06/backe-signed-trialists-provide-red-bulls-more-depth
Article about Colombians in MLS, focused on Fredy Montero. http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2012/03/07/colombians-mls-montero-pioneer-next-generation
Fredy Montero and Jhon Kennedy Hurtado are starting tonight against Santos Laguna in the CONCACAF Champions League. The game's on Telefutura and FSC at 10 ET.
2-1 Sounders. Montero had a nice assist on the first goal. Don't think it is enough to advance though, but a positive result.
Lot's of high opinions on Sebastian Velasquez's debut for Real Salt lake on the RSL and USA message boards. Here is a cool article I found: http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/blogsrsl/53692723-49/velasquez-game-galaxy-gil.html.csp
Kid is awesome. Ojala y algun dia pueda representar a nuestra seleccion (jodido por el desprecio que se le da a la MLS en Colombia), o a la de USA, o a la que pueda, es muy buen jugador.
He is an American citizen so I hope he plays for the USA. He Bedoya and Agudelo could be lethal up front during CONCACAF qualifiers. A trio of Colombian Americans.
Re: SEBASTIAN VELASQUEZ llega a la MLS http://www.soccerbyives.net/soccer_...s-rookie-of-the-week-sebastian-velasquez.html rookie of the week, tambien gano mejor jugador del partido.

Cap him now just out of spit !!! The US needs to stop stealing our players before they do anything. O you play'd 2 reserve game and made 3 passes. Ok your on our SNT !!!!
Come on man, You live in the USA you should be happy. It is not like they are calling up guys who would start for Pekerman anyway.
No but they won't start for the US anyway. They basically cap any potential player who can possibly play for another country after what happened to them with Subtoic and Rossi. Fine Agudelo has like 2-3 goals against huge teams like Italy and Argentina. He isn't half as good as Muriel but really you call up at 17 year old with 2 games professionally under his belt? Seems like spit to me.
Stop the hate man. The US FED sees the talent some of these kids have and as I have mentioned before many of these players are Americans who have grown up in the American system. Root for them to be successful and be happy for the USA. They are not a rival of Colombia and you live here.
There are some rumors floating around Chivas USA that they are going to bring in a South American player, most likely Colombian within the next couple of weeks. Any word on who this player might be? http://espn.go.com/blog/los-angeles/soccer/post/_/id/15391/chivas-usa-trialist-decisions-not-yet "The Goats are in pursuit of a South American player, according to a source with knowledge of the situation, and expect to sign him within the next week or so. Another source said the player was from Colombia, the top foreign provider of MLS talent, with 28 players, 14 of them newcomers this season. Chivas striker Juan Pablo Angel is Colombian."
We should red card you for saying that I don't think Nacional will lose any players before the summer. It's more likely a player who hasn't play'd in a while. I think it's Najera of Real Cartagena, he is black listed from going to another Colombian team and was rumored to be in the US a couple months ago. IF it's him he is really good and a great pick up.
