No. I spent my junior year of college in Bogotá (Javeriana, Los Andes) and lived with friends of one of my best Colombian friends here in the States. I remained in touch with those folks for almost thirty years. Though coincidence, I met a Colombian girl in Rhode Island; we were at a Niche show in 1992. (They opened the show with Mi Pueblo, a slow tune, interestingly enough). As it turns out, Charlie Cardona is from the same part of Bogotá as my wife and he always invited us backstage during intermissions and after shows. I've been back several times and hope to establish business interests there.
Interesting, many people are investing in Colombia, the economy keeps growing every year. Colombia is part of the CIVETS, a group of emerging economies.
