I agree. I'm not upset or angry, because Kentucky is simply the best college basketball team I have ever seen. Maybe I'm a little irritated with Tyshawn Taylor's typical brain dead performance, but this game always kind of felt like Bambi meets Godzilla anyway. I'm crestfallen, yes, but still amazed at the insane coaching job that Bill Self and Danny Manning pulled off. We shouldn't have been anywhere close to this game to begin with, so I say great job Hawks, congrats UK on being the best basketball team in a generation, and I'm pretty excited for next year.
KU's 08 team was better. Now, if you give this UK team all the college time to mature that the 08 team had, they'd probably win in the end. But our 08 team was freaking stacked.
My Tuesday is bright and sunny... My entire week is like that now... Elation... elation... elation...
You shouldnt be so elated with the recruiting class KU has coming in along with the recruits from this year that were not eligible, KU is going to be scary good next season. Pre-season poll already has them at #3.
I will repeat this mantra since the time frame is listed in the message itself yet others are attempting to dissuade the point... the now... this week... elation...
We were much deeper, but our starting 5? Don't think so. Kentucky had two players who have a fair to good chance to start in the NBA, and another who certainly will.
I'm already excited for next season. We have three returning starters along with Ben McLemore which based on those that have seen him practice would have been the second best player on the team behind Robinson. We also have Perry Ellis coming who is suppose to be a stud as well.
NBA is different than college. I'm talking purely in terms of college team ability. Our 08 team had a higher kenpom rating. Our 08 team is the highest rated team in Kenpom's admittedly short history.
lol, was only ever taught evolution in schools. Was taught pure science the entire time. Never any mention of Christianity. Just texted my cousin who grew up in a town of 100 deep in central-western Kansas. Said they weren't taught creationism. *shrug* Not sure exactly what you're getting on about tolerance, but not many issues that I personally experienced. Really didn't see blatant racism that was tolerated and had gay friends in hs that told me things were about the same wherever they went. None of them were bullied frequently in hs. A friend if mine was driving through Eastern Colorado was called fairy at a gas station because of his clothing. He isn't gay. Not saying intolerance doesn't exist, but its not near the level you seem to perceive. As far as the creationism, that bill was barely used by school districts. Most stuck to what they already had. Your sweeping generalizations sadden me, honestly. I've had some bad experiences in Colorado, but I recognize they in no way represent the state as a whole. Its a nice state. Theres some stupid voters, but Kansas Republicans are more moderate than people realize. That said, our Democrats tend to be very moderate. Theres some blue dogs out here.
Especially since Lawrence is a pretty liberal town. I dont think Kansas is any more conservative than Missouri is. The only difference is that Missouri has too big cities which tend to be more liberal than smaller cities. Regardless, this is a talk about the University of Kansas and the University of Missouri which are institutions. People always like to turn MU vs. KU into a state debate when it is two universities and a lot of people that attend both are not only from all over the country but all over the world. Also, you have a good chunk of the KCMO populaton that supports KU because a lot of people consider it Kansas City's major university so it is the university they support by default. I started supporting Kansas because their basketball games were on Channel 62 when I was a kid and I discovered it and it is responsible for my love of sports. If MU games had been on a local TV channel like that every game and I came across it, I might have ended up a MU fan. Next Thursday I am attending an information session at the KU Edwards Campus to attend for grad school so my life long dream of attending KU might still come true.
There is a chance I may be attending KU in the fall for grad school. My family may disown me. Shoot, *I* may disown me.
current 2012 Border Showdown scoreboard Mizzou 30 points kansas 4 points kansas's points have come in Women's Basketball 1.5- Men's Basketball 1.5-(which were splits as Mizzou picked up 3 points in basketball as well) and 1 point for Women's Indoor Track at the Big XII Tourney.
