So comes the end of a great Olympics. And what a fitting end as Canada saw a 2-1 lead slip with 24 seconds left before Sidney Crosby scored the goal for Canada to win. My God, is this closing ceremony embarrassing or what? I got a kick out the Vancouver mayor going on about Canada being humble. They've a lot to be humble about... Neil Young? William Shatner? Some SCTV gal -- talking about peeing in the snow!! Giant baloon beavers!!?? The Russians showed more culture giving us just two minutes of Borodin. Can't wait for Sochi. Putin will pull out all the stops. Go for it, Vlad! (And I'm sure he'll kindly disregard the smartass remarks coming out of Costas and Michaels during the Sochi presentation.) (Oh yeah, and we'd like to thank the First Nations for the 1,347,236th time.)

Both Putin and Medvedev were supposed to be at the closing ceremonies, but skipped after being disappointed with Russia's showing at the Olympics. Putin just might revert to his KGB training to pull it off, especially if he becomes president again.

Yes, that was well done. But the rest of it made the opening ceramonies look incredible. I know the closing are never really spectacular but this fell really far from everything that these Olympics had going for them. But i did love when the whole stadium errupted in LU!
