So much to ponder in the build up.

Things I'll be weighing in my head/thinking about:

Should Shinji start? If so, where?
How will we fit Nani one of our most effective and unique attackers in?
How will that affect Welbeck and his inclusion?
1000 appearances for Giggs. 1000! How will Fergie use him? Will it hurt us?
    What shape should we play?
Should Jones solely with the purpose of helping on set pieces and tracking Ronaldo? Is he fit?
Should we play to our strengths, to theirs or a bit of both?
What the hell are we going to do if Rafa gets sent off 30 minutes in?

Been lurking around the forum pages while traveling Asia.. you guys have been well entertaining on the road :D! Watched the Norwich game in Lao last night and was super happy that Rooney and Kagawa got on the score sheet. It's perfect timing to have those two score, as it will boost their confidence coming into the biggest game this season!

I would love to see a similar lineup, with a few exceptions.
De Gea, Rafael, Rio, Evans, Evra, Nani, Cleverly, Carrick, Kagawa, Rooney, RvP

Now to the very reasons why I replied to this thread. I arrive in Kolkata, India on Tuesday and need to find a place ASAP that will show the game. Any Indians from Kolkata that knows any good sport bars? It would be also nice to meet any fellow Bigsoccer posters that currently live in India. Thanks in advance Gents :)

Hopefully this time we limit them to no goals in their inevitable 4-1 victory.

It is like the first leg on their patch didn't even happen. Still predicting multi-goal wins.

Initially, I was hoping for an early goal by us and then enough threat on the counter to make the game a little cagey.

I've decided now I want Giggs to come on as a second half substitute and lead a valiant come back with a 90th minute goal to rival the 99 replay winner. I want hearts broken.

Trust me, there will be hearts broken.

Only it will be UTD's after Ronnie scores the winner.

You know, there are very few people here who think that losing this tie is improbable. In fact, most of us didn't expect us to do anything in Europe this year at all. We certainly know what Mourinho, Madrid and Ronaldo are capable of. We have first hand experience of all three.

See, that's called a healthy respect for your opponent. Oh sure, some of us will be gutted to not win the tie if that's how it works out after getting a good result in the first leg. But that is part of being a fan.

Exactly. I've never seen the point of ludicrous pre-match predictions. I think most people on this board thought that if Real Madrid were on top form they were the better side easily, but given their questionable winter form we had a shot. They are clearly getting back into the swing of things - but we have already shown we can run with them and have an away goal.

    Bring on Tuesday.

You guys should take a lot of the comments from our forum with a bit of salt. I have a healthy respect for United and its institutions. I think that no matter the odds in this tie are pretty even, and I hope that it will be a good contest unmarred by off-the-ball incidents, feuding, and bad blood (like in Classicos... ugh). United are one of the classiest teams out there, and I feel a bit grateful that some of yall over here are classier than some of us in our own forum.

I could never forget Ronaldo (Brazilian) and his reception in Old Trafford after that hat trick. Pure respect. I hope CR7 has a good performance as well, and I know that regardless of his on-field productivity, he'll be treated as a returning hero. I troll around in my own forum (posted 3-1 Figo, Raul x 2, stuff like that, etc), but I honestly think it may come down to a 1-1 and PKs, or a narrow 2-1 victory for either side.

I repped you for that "prediction" Raul was very very highly thought of around these parts and Ronaldo is widely accepted as an all timer. In fact, last week we were talking about R9 and his legacy post injury.

I think Welbeck has to start. No Kagawa, but Cleverley gets the nod. Rooney and RvP.

    I was kidding

The majority of us sensible fans know it will be a close game and not a walk in the park.

The majority of you Madrid fans on here have probably never seen a game (televised or other) at OT before.

Hoping it ends like last time Madrid came and had a legendary Ronaldo in their team, 4-3 to us and Ronaldo got a hatrick :p
