Now I know people talk about an away goal..

But can someone put it into context how a 1-1 scoreline is an advantage?

I can see an unfavored "weaker" team getting a 1-1 result away from home..

Like last year manU got 1-1 over Madrid in the first leg..

But how does this benifit bayern over this manU?

We hope that we play a 0-0 draw? Because any kind of draw and were out.

The next game is a must win, no matter what. I wish they would stop saying that 1-1 away goal is some sort of advantage in the grand scheme of things.

The next game is at home. Last time UTD played on the road they lost to Olympiakos. You people worry too much. Easy fuxking win and on to the next one.

That's not what I am talking about and you know it..,

Who the ******** plays for a 0-0 draw?? It's the least likliest score in football..

    Draw is not an option
And losing obviously is not an option

These guys need to step up big time like they've never had to before this season so far

Because if you lose the away match 0-1 then win at home 2-1 you are eliminated on away goals. Now if we win the match by any score line we are through.

What's your thought on my earlier comment?

Should we rest key players this weekend or play the same starting 11 for next week and build some kind of rhythm or momentum?

One other thought on this. When I was watching the teams line-up for the CL anthem it was clear already who was more determined. The body language of the Manchester United players signaled a team full of resolve who knew a tough task was ahead of them. Conversely the Bayern team looked loose. They were laughing, joking around and smiling. Not the look of a team that was taking this match seriously.

Most of the guys that started yesterday were rested/played less than 90' (Muller, Robben, Kroos, Lahm, Ribery, Alaba, Javi, Boateng) and we saw the effects of that. Personally I'm not in favor of resting players too much as they lose their match sharpness

I think a mixture of both. Pep needs play with Lahm, Kroos, and Goetze in midfield for 45 minutes and then swap one of them for Muller for the other 45 minutes. He will need to test out different permeations of the midfield to work out any kinks prior to the big showdown on Wednesday.

Well United can't play for a 0-0 so if they decide to park their fat ass in front of the goal again we can pass the entire 90 minutes and qualify. Knowing they can't do that, we'll have our opportunities. We'll score plenty and win and all this drama will be for nothing.

They will probably park the bus nevertheless, knowing that Bayern are an attacking team and will go for the win. Similar to Arsenal in the second leg of 32 who despite having lost 0-2 in the first game started defensively

They'll do exactly as they did in the 1st leg. Hope for a counter and hope for a draw.

The plan "worked" before so might as well again :p

I like this thought. We need to get lahm/Kroos/gotze trio going then rest who ever at the half

I do not like the fact that this team is so overconfident, especially against teams like United and Arsenal. They are not the best team of all time, they are not Pep's barcelona, and they haven't earned the right to think that they are that much better than the opposition. In other words, what else is new at Bayern?

When we started acting like this last season, Sammer stepped out and criticized them in the press and refocused the team. I seem to remember him trying that again, and he was criticized by management and hasn't really been as vocal this season. We really could use a fiery Sammer speech right about now.

I hope Pep or someone let them have it after the game because while the result is fine, this level of arrogance is unacceptable.

I have never got the deal with not having a full back on the goal line at corners. I've lost count the number of times it has bit us.manure arsenal

It usually works out for the better because you outnumber the attacking players. Good thing we had 4 guys marking nothing but grass when the cross came in.
