We were at least tested in the Group while Real really had just easy opponents in all stages. I dare to say that their only proper opponent this season so far was Barca.

I don't subscribe to this theory...

My girls varsity soccer team just got gubbed in the final of a tournament that saw the champions walk through their first round game.

True. Playing CSKA away in mid Feb is no cake walk though.

    Ribery for WPOTY

Its not a sarcastic remark, guy has been outstanding all season long... at times the team looks better without Robben

Nope. It could have gone either way but by the rulebook it is defined as a penalty. Nesta should have known better than to do that in the line of sight of the ref.

    Gomez for Olic.

I would have done Gomez for Gustavo

Regardless of the penalty, unfortunately the better team will win the game

Anyways GL in the next round, if we don't win I hope you guys do (unless Chelsea is in the final :p)

The rulebook says its a penalty. But in the recent past how many times have refs called a penalty for such a minor infraction. I can't even remembr one such incident from the last 1-2 years. Thats is why it was a very harsh decision.

Jupp's subs baffle me, almost every singe time. Why not take out Boateng or Gustavo?

We're walking a serious tight rope with those yellows.

Any idea how the card situation is wrt Real Madrid? Since they've won the first game at Apoel 3-0, they'll field a second string team tomorrow.

so now we have Gustavo,Muller,Kroos,Alaba and Boateng with 2 yellows :(.

I hope that Boateng and Alaba will not be booked against Real with the other we can survive let's say if Gustavo and Muller/Kroos one of them is booked than Tymo or Muller/Kroos can play.
