Christ at the overreaction. I swear some people spazz over anything in here. Bayern for two matches (BVB, BMG), has won every single game this season at the Allianz Arena. Every single match. Can they tie the game? Yes, it's possible but resting 2-3 players like Robben, Lahm, & Gustavo while Muller, Rafinha & Tymoschuk replaces them it's not as if the team balance drops significantly. If Bayern is need of a goal, they can always sub them in 55th or 60th minute if need be.

I'm talking about the league, no way would I rest any player in a Champions League KO game. :p If Bayern is up 2-0 by half time though, Heynckes could easily take 2 players at half time and take it easy. Or he can let the full team completely rip Marseille apart.

I think this tie will be easy if Bayern score first, assuming that the team is focused and starts at a good tempo they shouldn't be troubled too much. The good news is that there are no more Spanish refs thankfully.

JH said about Gomez ""Mario Gomez is an outstanding striker, but his success is related to the system we play and the team, who help him a lot"""

    what do u guys think?

Show the interview.. I did see sequences of it and he didn't say anything like that. What I remember is that jh told the journalists that gomez is an exceptional striker not only in cl nur also in league and cup for years and this achievements came of his attitude and the will to develope even more.

The key is to establish themselves at the start, and keep things clean. An early goal should settle the issue, but Marseille are in the quarter-finals for a reason and need to be taken seriously. I can't see anything but a Bayern victory if this approach is taken. I would try and protect the players on yellow cards as much as possible, and given that the ref is not one of the card-happy mob this should be a lot easier than it might have been had we ended up with another Hallmark employee like we had in the first leg.

As for Augsburg at the weekend, they are not to be underestimated and it would be churlish to start with a second XI against them. It is worth noting that since being bottom of the table not that long ago and looking like odd-on candidates for next years Zweite Liga, FCA have started to string together some decent results to climb out of the relegation zone. In fact they are unbeaten in their last six BL matches which include a 0-0 home draw with BVB and a 2-2 result in Hannover. They are a team of battling journeymen, and will no doubt raise their game in what is another Bavarian derby.

Marseille, Augsburg: no opponent can be underestimated.

Yeah, and everyone that said that is a focking idiot. To be honest.

Such a statement could essentially be made for every striker in a system where they play one striker rather than two. I also doubt that JP said that exact statement.

No football player does. But, given the stupid amounts money we give to this game, Gomez earns his keep.

Yet no one can tell us one striker who doesnt benefit from the system.

Even the disparity between Messi(best player of his generation) when playing for barcelona and playing for Argentina is obvious.

So the same can be said about every player in the world

Neuer - Lahm, Boateng, Badstuber, Alaba - Luiz Gustavo, Tymoshchuk - Müller, Kroos, Ribéry - Olic

Bank: Butt, Rafinha, Contento, Robben, Pranjic, Petersen, Gomez

really Heynckes instead of letting Gomez play so that he can surpass Messi and actually resting the players with yellow cards Gustavo,Kroos,Muller and Boateng he rests Robben and Gomez

This is a Retarded line up by Juup.

Bench Gustavo Boateng or kroos and start Robben and Gomez

They've been doing really well recently and gave us a really hard time the last time around.

But this line up is nothing that should trouble us or prevent us from getting through.

^^ But this line up can make us lose starters like Boateng, kroos and Gustavo in the semis

If we don't lose them here, we can lose them later on in an even more important match. It always involves risk, they'll just have to play smart.
