I'd feel much more confident today if the Glass Dutchie was in the side. Say what you will about him, but he's single-handedly saved Bayern's European Bacon several times away from home.....the goals against Fiorentina and United a few years ago were simply majestic...One point this afternoon will suffice...let's crush those diving Spaniards!!!!

I've given up on asking people to follow the rules around here. Where are the mods when we need them?

It's not difficult to use the spoiler tags when discussing results of other matches.

Neuer – Lahm, Dante, Badstuber, Alaba – Martínez, Schweinsteiger – Müller, Kroos, Ribéry – Pizarro.

I didn't expect Heynckes to risk it

Exactly the line-up I would choose. To all of those posters who think Mandzukic has won the starting job from Gomez: Why do you think Heynckes doesn't trust Mandzukic in important CL matches?

Isn't it obvious? Pizarro has transcended into a world class player and an even better one than Gomez. It's all so clear now :D

Playing two left-footed players at CB and starting Ribery, Martinez and Badstuber who are coming off injuries

Badstuber hasn't played as CB from last year i guess, this season he played only LB i wonder who will play RCB him or Dante. And why again Pizarro i don't get it. Maybe Heynckes thinks Pizarro has more CL experience on the other hand Mandukic is new to the CL

Mandzukic has been quite awful in all of the CL matches for Bayern so far. I think Heynckes prefers Pizza, and has set up his rotation accordingly.

I don't think he was bad in the Valencia match when he came on and in the other two matches he featured everyone stunk but yea, its rotation more or less.

Who cares about the stronger foot of CBs? This is only a topic since LvG and a kinda unimportant one on that position.

Well, 'Zarro has a lot more CL experience next to Manzu's few matches this year. Is he in better form? That's debatable. It's a toss up IMHO. I'd start Gomez just to shut everybody up!:D
