So they'll get evra back and their confidence will be higher.

Meanwhile we are missing 3 key players , one of which through injury.

I gotta say without thiago we look a little disjointed, it could take a while to get the rhythm back again.

Our return leg record vs English teams sucks serious balls. We pretty much have to win this one, any kind of draw is in manU favor.

1-1 isn't the best result, if you think about it. Not much advantage to the away goal.

If it was 3-3 or 2-2 that's one thing, but 1-1 to me is a little bit more of a disadvantage..

    If we play like this

    --------------ST
    LW----AM------AM----RW
    -------------DM

    we'll be ok.

If we play like we did in Old Trafford, like this - scared with no guts going forward

    --------------ST
    LW------------------------RW
    ---------CM
    --------------DM--CM

    we'll be screwed.

    Lahm Kroos
    Robben gotze ribery
    Mandz

    No. Like this.

    --------------------Neuer
    Rafinha----Boateng----Dante----Alaba
    --------------------Lahm
    Robben------Kroos----Gotze-----Ribery
    -----------------Mandzukic

First of all I think Lahm is better able to control the match as the lone DM. Having a 2nd DM throws off his positioning.

Second, we need to create more clear chances. We're not going to do that playing timid footy with Kroos sitting right next to Lahm like the first leg. He needs to be up with the other attackers.

I agree with this lineup 100%. I would also like to see Götze start taking on players. He's too busy passing it rather than taking a risk and dribbling through the players. Could unlock the bus if he gets past 1 or 2 guys and other defenders are suddenly thrown out of position to recover for the guys who messed up. And then open lanes for guys like Robbery to pass it to or even just shoot it.

I'd like Muller over Goetze for some real penetration similar to last season, but yeah that's the team in a nutshell

I like the original lineup just the way it is. We really gotta take the game it them and create a real cushion. We can't let them get into any kind of rhythm or grow in confidence over the course of the game.

This return leg will show how much we've progressed mentally.

I would like to use muller as 60+ for this one, he seems to make impacts at tired defenders a lot.

Because he's so unpredictable and he always finds space left by tired defenders.

I think that's our best lineup for the return leg.

Considering our English voodoo in home games, considering 3 key players out..

I can see an upset, 2-2 draw and QF exit..

I think we will win this match, but I am a bit worried given our absences. Anything can happen at this stage and with a ton of bad luck, we could be heading out of the CL.

All it takes is some fluky goal and we will be in deep shit.

That's why we'll score 5 goals. Then they can score a fluky goal or two.

I hope so. If we get knocked out, I'm going to have to take a sabbatical from this forum. It will be literally unbearable to read all of the BS whining and crying that will happen.
