I think Guardiola will use a 4-2-3-1 formation with Martínez next to Schweinsteiger away at Madrid. Kroos slightly ahead of the two with Götze as an offensive option in case things don't go our way.

yea, as of late our defense resorted back to its old ways, just like they were earlier in the season. They did improve and had an amazing run of consecutive clean sheets.

I do think if we were to win it will take place at the Bernabeu with goals.

I don't watch Bayern as much but you guys are playing 4141 right?

I was being honest with my assessment.

I personally think this will be a one goal difference series, if that even.
Maybe an away goal rule difference.

Anyways would you rather I be a big douchebag about it and troll and flame?

I didn't really see anything wrong with what I said... Anyways moving on

Yah for the most part. But pep has changed formations and lineups so much that we really don't know what he's going to do on any given matchday

As far as winning it, I think your best chance is winning it at the bernabau. Your record in Germany is less then desirable.

I think like the last 28 matches only 2 wins?? The latest in schalke. My stats need to be looked at.

But on the other hand, we seem to do worse when the return leg is at home.. So knows..

Mandzukic's yellow card situation worries me looking at a possible final. There's no way he doesn't get a yellow for elbowing Pepe/Ramos in one of the two matches and he should be valuable against Chelsea/Atletico.

Depending on the situation, if he doesn't receive a yellow in the first leg.

Maybe it would be wise to sit him out in the 2nd leg and have muller there instead

Bayern play a 4-1-4-1, but Pep doesn't seem to fully trust the formation in Europe yet. He may stick with it or he may ditch it and play 4-2-3-1.

I think he got total of one yellow card in both legs. To this day I can't wrap my head around this feat. There were so MANY fouls. Dude played his best games for us those two matches.

Seriously wtf? People here already talking about how we are going to exploit this weakness, score that goal, make them our bitch etc. Before even playing a minute of this match?

Very excited with the match-up, and confident too, but the overall confidence here is a little to much for my liking :D we got a lesson with Man Utd, now are you guys really believing we will crush Madrid???

Anyone on either side that thinks this won't be a tight matchup is lying, delusional, or joking.

I never said anything about blowouts or any of that garbage.,

BTW I gave a viable tactic to use at the bernabau and I have no idea what pep will do.

But we need away goals and I just don't believe real will be able up stop us from scoring at least once.

They aren't going to park the bus.

We need to worry more about their offense then their defense.

This series will be heated like always

People....let Madrid take our performance from today's match and run with it.

Tell them they are the favorite based off of our performance today.

Wouldn't we all love higher rep to post ratios? Shit, we won the CL last year, maybe we should take some reps this year instead.

Not playing 4-2-3-1 would be suicidal IMO! Dante and Boateng are going to need all the protection they can get! Especially Boateng who keeps falling like a frat boy at a party. Of course with that being said the fullbacks also need more protection from Bale and Ronaldo with that being said barring a colossal clusterphuck I still think Madrid was the most favorable tie! Our midfield is so much better than theirs and we can literally starve them of the ball fortunately they also do not have a defence that can keep clean sheets (except Casillas is in beastmode) so I fancy at least an away goal or more! Who knows maybe a good ol Western shootout

I don't mind us being the underdog and flying under the radar for once. Wishful thinking I guess

Call me crazy but I feel the 4-1-4-1 is best for this matchup :cautious:

    I have to completely disagree..

Especially if we stick rafhina on RB. We will be asking for trouble.

The pep formation doesn't seem as fluid without a lahm/Kroos(bastian)/thiago trio..

Real are going to destroy us with our high line. This is why I advocate last years lineup with a focus on giving up more possession and counter attack high up the field.
