Results from Saturday 1st August below -

Most of the bigger teams in the first rd draw went comfortably through as expected. Such as St Johnstone, ICT, Partick Th, Dundee and Dunfermline. Please don't ask GordonEF about the East Fife match. I had them on my coupon and they let me down :( unlike Forfar and St Johnstone who came through. Great odds on Forfar for todays game. I got them at 11-10, not that it helped me overall...

    Saturday, 1 August 2009

    Airdrie Utd 0-0 Alloa
    Alloa win 4-3 on penalties

    Albion 3-0 Livingston

    Brechin 4-0 Elgin

    Clyde 1-3 Forfar

    Cowdenbeath 1-3 Morton

    Dumbarton 0-5 Dunfermline

    Dundee 5-0 Stranraer

    East Fife 2-3 Raith

    Inverness CT 4-0 Annan Athletic

    Partick Thistle 5-1 Berwick

    Peterhead 0-3 Arbroath

Queens Park 1-4 Queen of South

    Ross County 5-0 Montrose

    Stenhousemuir 0-5 St Johnstone

    Stirling 1-2 Ayr

Good results also for Alloa, Morton, QotS and Ross County. Meanwhile, the misery keeps piling on for Livi...

    :D

Now now. How about your team plays for 90mins instead of 45. I had a good coupon on the go and it was looking great at HT.

2nd Rd will be played on the 25/26th August.

The draw for the Second Round of The Co-operative Insurance Cup will take place at Tuesday Lunchtime at Hampden. Included in the draw are the sixteen winners from yesterday along with the remaining four SPL sides not involved in European ties this season so the names of Hamilton Accies, Kilmarnock, Hibs and Dundee United are included in the hat with this stage of the competition still seeded based on league placings last season.

That was a remarkable game by the sounds of it. I checked LiveScore after about 40 minutes and saw it was 3-3 with East Stirlingshire fighting back from 3 goals down. I thought LiveScore must have made a mistake at the time.

One thing you can't accuse this round of is lacking goals.

    CIS Cup - 2nd Round

    Tuesday 25th August

    Alloa 0-2 Dundee Utd
    Forfar 2-4 Dundee
    Inverness CT 4-0 Albion
    Kilmarnock 3-1 Morton
Partick Thistle 1-2 Queen of South
    Ross County 2-1 Hamilton

The main shock tonight was the continuation of Hamilton's retched start to the season as they exit the League Cup in the 2nd round up in the highlands against Ross County.

No idea. I'm in England at the minute working. Some pub in Lincoln will have the joy of me sitting in it with my bumble bee strip on for the match.

    Tuesday 22nd September

    Dundee 3-2 Aberdeen a.e.t.
    Hibernian 1-3 St Johnstone
    Kilmarnock 1-2 St Mirren
    Motherwell 3-2 Inverness CT a.e.t.
    Ross County 0-2 Dundee Utd

The surprise of the night, if it is that big a surprise, is that the sheep have crashed out. After fighting back to take the tie to extra time I thought they'd go on and win it but Dundee got the winner. Hibs losing at home to St Johnstone is somewhat of a surprise as well but not so much if you'd seen the highlights of their game at the weekend in the SPL. Sure, Hibs won it 3-0 but St Johnstone could count themselves unlucky to lose so heavily in a game they played well in.

ICT were reduced to 10 men with the score at 1-1 and went behind early in extra time only to level the game again. But Motherwell eventually won the tie with the impressive Forbes bagging the winner.

    Wednesday 23rd September

Queen of the South 1-2 Rangers
    Falkirk 0-4 Celtic
    Hearts 2-1 Dunfermline

No surprises tonight although Hearts needed a penalty to squeeze by Dunfermline and QofS gave a good account of themselves against Rangers.

Anyone think there will be a different pairing in the final other than Hearts and Rangers...?

At this point both of those teams should be well motivated to perform. Both likewise have shown that they can lose to just about anyone as well.
