Yes I'm going Sunday. The mood at the San Paolo is very sour these days. No one has escaped the fans' wrath, from DeLa to Montervino. The only logical next step is to start blaming former players for our crisis since everyone currently on the club's payroll has been targeted. Even Lavezzi is walking on thin ice. Against Genoa I saw the most open attack against Reja I've seen yet. At one point a good portion of the Tribuna chanted "Reja, Reja, vaffanculo!" or something to that effect. Actually, Russotto is probably the only Napoli employee who hasn't been blamed. But everyone else to include the ballboys (not joking) has been criticized.
Randy, if everything goes well, I'll be at the last game of the year. Not sure where I'll be in the stadium, but I might bring a US flag so look for that. lol
Time to get this going again! But I've gotten really lazy...not (always) gonna mention here that my blog is updated, but you know where to find it.
As I said, not always gonna post here when my blog is updated, but I just posted Napoli-Udinese, and Napoli-Livorno has been up for a while.
hey Randy im dying to read about your experiance on the other night at the san paolo!! i was so happy when Dennis scored the equelizer i was full of emotion, looking forward to your blog!
I just want to say as a real new supporter for Napoli that I have really enjoyed going through your blogs!
Welcome, AZ! And thank you for your interest...I left Naples kinda suddenly in December and haven't had a chance to even finish the blog (still need to write something on the last 3 games I attended...). Things have been busy since moving to DC so haven't had much peace of mind to sit down and think about what to do with all this. Still contemplating redrafting it all into an actual book. We'll see!
Randy, What caused you to go to DC? I look forward to further reading some of these blogs as I know that along with various clubs I follow from other leagues that I have already 3-4 future trips overseas planned in my head. I hadn't really followed much of Serie A but something lead me to checking out Napoli out of curiousity. I like that there is somewhat of a us against everyone else feel along with such awesome supporters that make for great atmosphere. I know I am trying to find out things such as what type of style of play they are best known for although I know that can change based on various coaches. Anyways, I will try not to go off topic in your particular thread.
I am back. I was ArizonaFußballFan but I got my first ever red card. I never even got one during all my years on the pitch. I look forward to finding out everything and anything that a new supporter has to know about Napoli. Again, I find all these old blogs very interesting to read.
You being from Chandler I had just assumed you were tan and got swept up in raid for brown folks. I lived in Chandler. Years ago. I was one of the lucky ones and escaped into Ahwatukee via a tunnel.
Hey man, as far as things to know...not really sure where to begin! The blog definitely gives you a solid rundown (more or less). The new season is just about upon us, so you'll be seeing all kinds of interesting things shortly...
Thanks again, I look forward to eventually be asking about what is involved in getting a ticket to a Napoli home match. Whenever that may be in the future, it will be my first ever time to anywhere in Italy. I can't wait. Until then, I am enjoying every article I find on this wonderful club.
