    Chivas vs Atlante

    Jornada 6
    Location: La Perla Tapatia
    When: Saturday, 09/02/2006
    Time: 5:00PM (Pacific), 8:00PM (Eastern)

El Rebano Sagrado will be facing Atlante who have three wins and two losses in the tournament. Rene Isidoro Garcia (Atlante's coach) stated that Chivas is the favorite to win this game. I heartily agree with Garcia. I expect to see a dynamic, delightful, intense, and triumphant performance by our great team. Vamos Chivas, a retomar la fortaleza del Jalisco!

The key to this game will be to keep Biscayzacu from getting good shots, hes Atlantes best player in my opinion so if the Chivas can harrass him throughout the match they should be in good shape. But one slip up and he can burn them. This is a game where Salcido would be perfect to shadow him, i dont have much confidence in Maza or Reynosos abilitys to cover him all game long. But thats not going to happen so im hoping for the best between them two. Offensively, i think the Chivas should have several good opportunities againsts Atlantes defense, i just hope they are able to put the easy ones away rather than let them slip by. Overall, im thinking Chivas will come away with three points tomorrow.

Until i read otherwise, im going to assume that he will play. If not, then the Chivas should definitely be able to beat Atlante.

This game was a disappointment. Typical of them, they let a couple of goals slip away too. But give credit to Vilar for playing a good game. Him and Mustafas save towards the end kept Chivas from picking up three points. No doubt Chivas played better today than Atlante, but they just couldnt get the winning one to go in. Still, this should of been a game they won. Chivas are letting too many points slide away, this looks like a repeat of the Clausura.

atlante sucks.. all they did was score that lucky goal and se echaron pa tras..
    like always chivas domina!!

man those teams shouldnt be even let play in la liga mexicana..
altante was clearly scared of chivas!!!!!they thaught they were gonna get a goliza!!

    this was a dissapointing game..

Well, you play to your strenghts. It worked for them in the sense that they didnt lose tonight. It doesnt matter if its pretty or not as long as the desired result is achieved.

if that was the case then they shouldnt bitch about not filling up there stadium!! cause atlante plays horrible..

every team that visits chivas plays to defend and if they get a goal then thats cool by them, that shouldnt be that way, ppl pay good money in mexico to go to the stadium and see a great game not to see just one team dominate the other echarse para tras.....

i dont know it just sucks not being able to see teams go at it with nice clean frontal attack!!..

That game was worth watching for Mustafa's goal line clearance alone. Unbelievable.

Was hoping for the win, but what are you gonna do, the game was exciting and fun to watch, that's why I watch in the first place.

Vilar is a little bitch. he should have gotten a red card for throwing punches along with Santana. Bofo didn't do sh!t. either way, this is already 3 games in a row where we dominate and have chances to score, but we don't!!! forwards really have to step up.

I did not comment until now because I was very angry against Vilar's malicious attitude, landing on Bofo, and his dirty punches against Santana. I was also irate against the referee and Mustafa. The Atlante players who participated in the ruckus did not break the will nor intimidate our Chivas. They sought this vulgar recourse because Guadalajara was eating them up with a relentless offense that they could not restrain.

The prized second goal did not come, but our team is standing proudly. Chivas has performed the best football of all the teams in the league. Every game is a football feast. As a whole, I enjoyed the game very much. El Rebano needs to improve on their aim, place Chato in the bench, and adjust the defense slightly. I say slightly because, I have seen a concentrated Maza and a Magallon who is playing well. Reynoso is not extraordinary, but he is not a bad defender. I was glad to see more offensive players in the starting lineup. It was a bold move by el Chepo.

Oswaldo said this after the game:
"Creo que la gente debe estar tranquila porque hemos hecho un buen esfuerzo, está corriendo, entregándose y eso se va a reflejar, no pudimos ganar en esta jornada, sólo dos empates, pero el funcionamiento colectivo es muy bueno", agregó.

Oswaldo is right. Our beloved team's collective game is very good. The triumphs will come chivistas, let us be tranquil. We will drink the sweet cup of victory very soon.

You know, usually I can let ref. mistakes go, even if it meant the game for us or whatever, but for some reason I can't get over yesterday. That fool de atlante la bajo con la mano, damn it! cheater and a half. maybe i just want the win so badly that i won't let this go, but damn it, that was a hand-ball... ha. well ok onward...

I agree with this statement. Ive watched a lot of games yet no other team has been as exciting to watch as Chivas. America, with their Vuoso, Cabanas, Piojo, Pepino etc. dont even come close in terms of playing good soccer. Theyve got potential, but this Chivas team actually does it. The only thing they need is to get two or three in every game and they will do well.
