    Gerson Mayen Leaves Chivas USA
    http://www.foxsportswest.com/07/25/11/Gerson-Mayen-Leaves-Chivas-USA/landing.html?blockID=541441&feedID=3707

“This move allows Mayén to get first-team matches and minutes at a high level, and that experience will help him moving forward,” said Chivas USA General Manager Jose Domene. “Gerson is a very young player with a lot of potential who basically needs more time on the field to develop his abilities and obtain experience. That is the intention behind the loan for Gerson who is a product of the Chivas USA youth academy”.

“I've been trying to get Nick for three years, at least. I'm just happy we have the opportunity to get him now,” said Chivas USA coach Robin Fraser, who came to the Goats from Real Salt Lake. “The good thing about him, too, is for all his ability, he's very humble and willing to do whatever the team needs him to do. You put that together with that kind of natural ability, he's a tremendous player to coach.”

Two former players from junior college powerhouse Cerritos College were killed Saturday as they trekked toward Kansas Wesleyan University, where both had accepted scholarships.

Defender Carlos Ornellas (South Gate/Warren HS), 21, and midfielder Eddie Valencia (Los Angeles/Wilson HS), 20, died following a one-car accident early Saturday near the Utah-Colorado border, the Long Beach Press-Telegram reported.

Teammate Briant Reyes (Downey/Downey HS), 21, suffered minor injuries to his arms and legs in the crash and was released from a Utah hospital later Saturday.

Reyes won 2008 Sueno MLS with Chivas USA but was later released.

Holy crap, I remember this guy, I'm glad he's ok, but this is a tragedy.
Poor kids, they probably would've had a good future as players. :(

    Tom Payne

“In fact I expect us to compete with ticket price standpoint – we aren’t a minor league team so we’re not going to sell tickets for $8.”

Does anyone agree with Mr.Payne? Does the price of a ticket really make a club a minor league team or AEG just been AEG?. If we had a strong following like the Sounders or Galaxy would our FO raise the prices? They are a business; however, we all play in MLS.

I love Busch's dumbfounded look of total amazement on Zemanski's long range goal.
