Update: Chivas USA U16s trashed Houston Dynamo 5 - 0; U18s 3 - 1 over Houston Dynamo. 5 wins, 1 draw. 23 goals scored. 7 goals against. Both teams could have gone undefeated. The U16s had a chance to win the game with a last minute pk but the crossbar saved the Dallas Texans that resulted in a tie. Good results @Development Academy Winter Showcase.

The Chivas USA Academy has expanded to Orange County by creating a partnership with United FC.

CARSON, CA. (Wednesday, December 14, 2011) Chivas USA announced today an exclusive partnership with Orange County’s leading youth soccer club, United FC. United FC joins Chivas USA’s growing youth club network that supports the development of soccer in Southern California.

Chivas USA General Manager Jose Domene commented the following about the partnership. “We are extremely happy with our new partners, this is a great fit, great coaching staff, and good facilities; it is a partnership that is mutually beneficial. It gives both clubs a broader reach and access to better and more players. At the end of the day, they do things right, they do things the way we want to do things. I met all the guys personally and think they do a terrific job. This will additionally give us [Chivas USA] a continuous presence in South Orange County and also allows us to pursue our ongoing efforts of developing and supporting new youth talent.”

In this partnership, Chivas USA will support United FC’s club, coaching, and player development, as well as tournaments and player identification.

“We are excited about the opportunity to work with United FC as they have proven over the years to have a great passion and infrastructure for player development,” said Chivas USA’s Assistant Head Coach and Academy Technical Director, Greg Vanney. “Additionally, the partnership allows Chivas USA to get more involved with players in the Orange County area. As for United FC, they have a committed Board of Directors, an excellent staff, first class facilities and a teaching philosophy that fits in line with how we do things at Chivas USA. Through this relationship the Chivas USA staff will be very involved with United FC staff to implement the curriculum and player development programs to all age groups. We believe that this relationship will be long lasting and rewarding for both organizations.”

United FC will learn Chivas USA’s coaching philosophy and curriculum; host training sessions and camps/clinics with Chivas USA Youth Academy and first team staff coaches, as well as participate in player exchange programs.

“It is rare to find a business partner who is selfless,” added United FC Assistant Director of Coaching, Bryan Wallace. “If you are lucky it happens once in a lifetime, I believe we at United Futbol Club have found such a partner in Chivas USA. Our passion and drive to serve our players, their families, fans, our community, and our philosophies are mirrored.”

Antonio Zea, director of soccer for Adidas America added the following in regards to the partnership. “The United States has some of the best athletic talent in the world and it's our goal to provide homegrown athletes with opportunities to play elite soccer. With our recent extension of the Major League Soccer contract, we have put the importance of youth development at a premium and are excited about helping create Youth Club Alliances with local MLS clubs. This partnership between United FC, Chivas USA and Adidas will prove to be a great step in developing the next generation of American soccer icons.”

We have Chivas USA-Bell Gardens, Chivas-Pomona, and now affiliated with United FC. I'm curious to here that Vanney is the Academy Technical Director. I thought Teddy Chronopoulos was holding that position.

Nice. My son Diego and his team were runners up in the suan juan capistrano tournament this past summer losing only to west coast fc. Beautiful area. Chivas needs to stake a claim in the southern riverside area down here. We have no pro sports team of our own, tons of youth soccer and plenty of talent.Oddly enough Xolos de Tijuana list temecula as a place where they have a youth academy on their website but we play out of temecula and we've never seen them anywhere.

You have Chivas San Bernadino Academy that happens to be the closest to Riverside. Supposedly they work to develop Chivas USA and Chivas de Guadalajara players. I've followed this Academy for a while now, and i can say it's all bull. They are more focused in developing players to send to Guadalajara than Chivas USA, while using the Chivas USA brand. I consider them a pay to play Academy since they are not involved in the DA. Anyways check it out.

The second cup in a tournament since November(Irvine Nike Harvest Cup). A good step for the Chivas USA Youth Academy.

The USSDA teams continue the 2011-2012 season at Home this Saturday when they host the Vancouver White Caps. On Sunday they host Californina Developmental Academy. Should be good games and it's free. They moved the games to Pitzer College this weekend.

Poor goal keeping decisions cost the young goats a clean sheet. Chivas USA had possession most of the game and created plenty of chances.

North San Diego Futbol Club (Stallions) has signed a partnership agreement with Chivas USA. http://www.soccernation.com/rick-moore-takes-charge-of-the-stallions---nsdfc-welcomes-moore-cms-2227

"As part of this commitment to young players, NSDFC has signed a partnership agreement with Chivas USA. No details are currently available, but in general the partnerships include support and mentoring from Chivas USA as well as other benefits for players. Often professional players and academy coaches will visit partner clubs to conduct soccer clinics."

so i hear CHIVAS USA sent out a person to see if christian carillo was at the pats game vs galaxy. after christian asked for a release Chivas were upset. they've had 5 players leave their club since the start of the year. word around the street is that christian wont be able to play because he was playing high school. Chivas USA will have to have their games forfeited for breaking the rules. sad to hear. bad week for the team, stevie leaves them with nothing and now this..

Sucks to see players leave but i'm not worried. Chivas USA has signed 3 academy players in the past and all 3 have failed to adapt in MLS. In my opinion ever since the restructure of the academy, Chivas USA is focused on indivual performance of every player then team standings.
I'm sure they are upset losing players like Carillo who was with Chivas for two years and Rodriguez; however, they are replaceable. Marky Delgado is the only academy player still in preseason with the 1st team.

Weekly Chivas USA Youth Academy Update February 13

The U9's kicked off State Cup this past weekend in Apple Valley with pool play and came away with three wins to win their group and advance to the elimination round of 16 this upcoming Saturday. Despite windy conditions, the U9's overcame slow starts in the first half of each game with strong finishes to put away the competition.
Joel Trejo scored 3 goals in the first game against the Oceanside Breakers on Saturday to lead the way. In the second and toughest game of the weekend the U9's found themselves down 1-0 early but were led by Danny Vasquez's 2 first half goals and gave the U9's a 2-1 lead at half. Aymar Cuevas's 2 second half goals completed the come back with a 4-1 win over a strong Carlsbad Lightning team. In the third and final game of the weekend the U9's jumped out to a quick start with a goal by Tomy Angel 36 seconds into the game, but that lead was short lived when West Coast FC came back to tie it 1-1. The U9's responded with 4 goals to close out the first half with a 5-1 lead. The U9's added two more goals in the 2nd half to close out the game with a 7-1 victory and sealed first place in their group.
Coming up next weekend for the U9's in the Round of 16 against CV Manchester Academy at 1:30pm in Apple Valley’s Brewster Park.

Scott French hints that Chivas USA may sign the next Homegrown player

Delgado looks like he has potential. He scored a great goal against FC Hasental, unfortunately the build up right before he scored was called off side.

Carillo and Rodriguez arent talents that are found around the corner. These kids had proved in their past that they were very skilled players. Seems like something was going on with them and the coaching staff that made them leave. Sad to have to see CHIVAS USA academy team have to forfeit their games for letting Carillo play high school.
Marco Delgado is a great talent, just make sure he doesnt leave as well ;)
what about Ben Spencer? is he still living with Greg? surprised coaches fav isnt getting time with the 1st team?

Chivas USA is close to signing Academy Player Marky Delgado
Delgado just turned 17, usually plays with the U-17s/U-18s

    .
Curious to see how this starts off. Sensifut doesn't seem to have an actual team. I've tried to search for it. Lets hope Chivas USA would offer players Home Grown Player contracts before sending them to Mexico. Otherwise, we would lose them to other clubs, perhaps in Mexico.

Chivas USA had a scrimage this morning vs. FCHasental,

Nice March keep us posted on the progress of our future glory. Once these lil' bad asses are ready for the first team then we will really see the fruits of our labor come to pass. We will be an all Southern Califas team. won't have to outsource for talent, affordable, universal system, attractive futbol, and probably a good representation of the southern california demographic.
Keep us posted March. my son's under 9 team played against the Chivas USA under 9 and they cleaned up on us 4-1. Were a good little team to. but You can tell they are lerning the right things already. they stayed tight, clean passes, composure, positioning is already there.
