Ouch. I think they are out. They tied Monterrey (Monterrey has them on more goals scored), Japan beat America, and Morelia beat Dynamo. Chivas ends in 4th in the group?
Jornada 5: Chivas USA 0 - 2 Santos Atlas 1 - 0 Tigres Brazil NT 2 - 2 Pachuca USNT 0 - 1 Saprissa Mexico NT 2 - 0 Estudiantes Chivas 2 - 2 Monterrey Morelia 2 - 0 Houston U. Catolica 1 - 1 F.C. Tokyo Japan NT 2 - 1 America
Very disappointing Copa Chivas Qualified Teams: Group A - Mexico NT - Santos Group B - Atlas - Saprissa Group C - Morelia - Japan NT Best 3rd places: - U. Catolica - Monterrey Like Chouly said, we tied Monterrey in points and goal differential. But they scored 10 and we only scored 9.
Copa Viareggio (Italy) Fecha 1: Sub 20 vs. Parma : 0 - 1 Liborio Sanchez Christian Moran Miguel Ponce David Orozco Jose Luis Verduzco (10’ 2T Abraham Coronado) Daniel Navarro Mario Ledesma (18’ 2T Omar Ledesma) Saúl Sandoval Ulises Dávila Ramón Arriaga (21’ 2T Jorge Mora) Michel Vázquez DT Manuel Martínez
What I love is that some of these kids (Coronado for instance) are getting non-stop international exposure.
Fecha 2: Sub 20 vs. FC Kallon : 0 - 4 Liborio Sanchez Daniel Montes Christian Moran Miguel Ponce David Orozco Daniel Navarro Jorge Mora Omar Ledesma (1' 2T Abraham Coronado) Saul Sandoval Ulises Davila (25' 2T Mario Ledesma) Michel Vazquez (41' 2T Uriel Navarro) Goles: Coronado (1), Vazquez (2), Mora (1)
is that the same Coronado from the Sub-17 last year? and how old is Davila?? i've heard about that guy since like 3-4 years ago seems that he would be a starter at Chivas now
Yup. Same Coronado. Davila is 19, he's gotten very few minutes with the first team...but with so much international exposure (como dice Chouly) he's bound to get more playing time.
Michel Vasquez has been tearing it up in the lower divisions for over a year now. I think he was our top scorer in the sub 20 division last year and he's been scoring a lot of goals in the international tournaments. he had a good preseason with the first team when Paco Ramirez was the head coach and was actually close to debuting. It's unfortunate we are loaded at the foward position because vasquez might be the best target foward in our cantera.
Honestly, that was the biggest reason I was in Favor of Bravo staying in Europe, or maybe coming back to some other team. I don't know how good these kids really are (see Hulk Salazar), but with Bravo and Medina there, and now Bofo too, they won't be getting any minutes anytime soon unless they are loaned out or sold (see Hulk again, who has at least played 43 minutes with Jaguares and seen action in all 3 games, more than he would get with Chivas).
Fecha 3: Sub 20 vs. Napoles : 1 - 1 Liborio Sánchez Kristián Álvarez Christian Morán Miguel Ponce David Orozco (Mario Ledesma) Uriel Navarro Jorge Mora Abraham Coronado Ulises Dávila Saúl Sandoval (Omar Ledesma) Michel Vázquez (1) Con este empate, queda el equipo elimindado.
I was going to make a "he goes by Antonio now, not Hulk" joke, but I see that it's probably because you use mediotiempo for your stats. They don't have any Jaguares players with minutes. He's actually played limited minutes in the first 3 Jaguares games (3, 17, 27), while also playing for their U20s the last 2 games (90, 87 + a goal). We'll see if the new coach takes a shot with him or not. (thanks femexfut)
