You know, it might just be worth a passing (bitter) thought but no more than that. The Champions league is the Holy Grail and the money to the club, especially should they get through the group stages is immense. Anything else would be disrespectful of the manager and the owners and if, Everton has some progressive supporters, them as well. But I'm talking as if the situation was reversed but we are not, we're talking about Everton But then if they don't beat Dubai City, we have years of ammunition ..

I was just thinking that so so so many of Chelski's fans are bandwagonners that just found the team in the last 7-8 years - around the same time that Oil money was able to get them out and about to the rest of world for friendlies etc - and those newbies absolutely needed to have every new chelski kit to show how big time of a fan they were. That and almost every player on chelski was a star - so more sales there too.
I started following Liverpool in 2006, a year after Istanbul (though that's not why I chose to follow Liverpool). I have a whole bunch of jerseys from 2006 forward in my closet. Am I a plastic?
Definitely! You and me both! But I'd say Chelsea's major success over the last 10 yrs has spawned a new generation of "supporters" who seem to believe that Chelski began when Roman bought them.
I figure any of us who stuck with the team through the Hodgson era and (sorry to say this) Kenny's full season have demonstrated enough commitment to transcend the plastics label.
I would hesitate to label it the "Hodgson" era or "Kenny" this or that - it was the H&G ownership that dragged LFC to the brink...
I'd say Parry and Moores were as culpable as anyone for the slow, steady decline of the club that culminated in them cashing out to the two thieves. Then we really fell off a cliff as the leveraging and asset stripping really took hold.

well, one thing we do know...he's only about 5'10" he's a rapper, with a long African name: Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu
"If Liverpool do win the title and seventh place is established as the ideal launchpad for domestic success, can we expect teams to be fighting to finish outside the European positions from next season onwards? It could be Manchester United have been ahead of the game all along." Moyes madness explained at last. Clearly the man's a genius and should be signed to a 10 year deal. http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2014/apr/16/liverpool-premier-league-title-champions-league
If you have ever read a Paul Wilson article before, you would understand how damn amusing that one is. And, his complete change of opinion on our club in the last few months is practically shameless.
"Some people are saying that Liverpool have an unfair advantage coming from seventh place." Never heard that claim, until now. Thank you Mr. Wilson for defending us against your own made-up critics.
Regardless of his past loyalties, the article is a good read and he makes good points. Not saying I would give up 40 years of continuous sobriety to have a wee dram with him. but I enjoyed the piece.
Thank goodness, because I can't imagine how offensive your posts would be if you wrote them whilst inebriated.
... but only since around then. Before, he had dismissed Liverpool's chances, and rightly so, because of the thinness of the squad.
